I don't have much to say here. I didn't quite know who defines "non-warrior" character. I love a lot of characters that don't physically fight but pretty much all of the characters that I love have some element of "fight" in them even if they just fight with words, political and business maneuvers, sharp medical or detective moves, survival, etc. IMO, it may be the solo link between *all* of my favorite characters.
I chose Sex and the City's Charlotte York and and Frasier's Niles Crane because they're rather pointedly defined by their cuteness and and non-aggression so they felt like non-warrior characters to me. However, a lot of my favorite Niles moments are when he's fighting with Frasier or when he's being very bitchy.
Frasier: Niles, I love you so much that I'd shave my head for you.
Niles: A gesture that seems less significant with every passing year.
Thinking about it, it's disconcerting how many of the funniest Charlotte lines are her being a fighter and even kind of a bitch. "Is your vagina is the New York City guidebooks because it should be. It's the hottest spot in town. It's always open!" or "Oooh, we can't talk in front of the penis because it might go soft. And the penis wants this and the penis wants that and NOW THE PENIS WANTS TO BE MEASURED!!!" or "Miranda, you better show up to your baby shower. I'm not going to get stuck with a bunch of your lawyer friends who if they're anything like you WON'T EVEN APPRECIATE A PERFECTLY GOOD PUTTANESCA!"
Still, those scenes were partly funny because we could always count on Niles to peacefully reconcile with Frasier and his dad in some sickly sweet scene in the ep. Yes, Charlotte hilariously fought with Miranda and Samantha but they always reconciled and Charlotte was usually the first one to make the gesture. Charlotte and Niles led deeply cossetted lives where they were pretty much non-stop adorable and that was a big part of the fun of watching them.
sex and the city: urban shoe myth!,
frasier: tossed salads and scrambled egg
