If I ever find my camera, I'll be posting pictures of our new place.  I'm also going to be getting plants into their containers this afternoon.  I've parred down my aspirations for a garden, though I've still got all the plants I want to have other than butter beans.  I'll just have to survive without them and get the frozen pictsweet (sp?) instead.  I do have zucchini, cucumber, green bell pepper, three sizes of tomato, rosemary, oregano, and basil.  I think I just need a couple more pots and some cilantro, and I'll be a happy camper.  I've also figured out that containers might be better anyway since we have lots of bunnies and moles in the yard that might decide we have tasty goodies.  We'd probably manage to attract deer from the woods to eat our veggies as well.  We'll probably still need to worry about deer, but I'm hoping the other two won't be as big of issues.

Today was the first day I commuted in to Richmond with someone else, and on top of cutting down on fuel expenses, it made the trip seem a lot quicker.  The woman has her Ph.D. and has just recently gone from the teaching to administrative side of academia, so she's able to give me some tips on picking a good doctoral program.  That's exciting because I know I'm driving blind right now trying to figure out what factors matter more than others.  Commuting with someone also makes sure that I get out of bed and to work in a timely manner, which means that I should be home by ~5 o'clock with plenty of time to do my gardening. :D

Work is going well, though I still need to get my personal statement in if I'm going to have hopes of keeping it through the school year.

I also got our wireless connection hooked up at the house, which means we can stop using our landlord's when we want to be on our laptops.  This has been a long process.  Also, I'm trying to figure out if the prospects of moving again in a year means that we shouldn't get our media package price reduced by signing a 12-month agreement.  *hmmm

Downfall of coming in to work earlier: It's a lot longer wait to get to lunch and I'm hungry!

I'm reading a book for class right now that would have worked perfectly for my senior capstone project last year.  It's called Emotional Labor, and it's a bummer that the book wasn't released until this year.  It fit what I was looking at perfectly!  It shows that I was at least on the right track for my analysis, which is great.  I will definitely keep it in mind though if I continue with this topic as my focus in the future.  It proves that I am in the right field (public administration) for what I want to study though, which is great.
