it was almost a case of the boy who cried wolf. i first started hearing rumors of their visit a couple of years back. so when word started going round again that they were holding a concert here, i didn't believe it until it was nearly too late. but they came! finally! and i was there to hear them and watch them and scream "at the top of my lungs" along with everyone else.
i loved it when jon foreman came off the stage to join the crowd. this was after two guys from the audience managed to climb on stage and run back and forth chased by bouncers. he said, if you guys can jump on stage, then i can certainly stand on your chair.
it was also pretty cool when they ate balut in front of everyone, a surprise treat by their keyboardist jerome fontamillas, who's pinoy. they were game and brave enough to try it, even without a fear factor host egging (haha) them on.
sadly, they didn't play all the songs i wanted them to. it would have been impossible - they would have had to play all night and well into the morning!
but they gave me classics like "dare you to move," "this is your life" and "learning to breathe." and i was happy. "standing on the edge of everything i've never been before."
switchfoot! you guys rock my world.
