On the Roof, Part II

In the midst of her rage, there was something Miranda did not see, nor feel. A shadow watching her, one that had grown deeper the instant after the elevator opened to let her onto the roof hours early, just not as early as he had been up there, alone.

"So much for a few hours to look over the city and think," his shadow thought. Strange, that some of his power that Loki had stolen from him was feeling like it was on the cusp of returning - he could hide his Beast once more from scrutiny, but perhaps not if she extended her feelings to seek him out.

So, instead, he decided to get this over with sooner rather than later.

Flickering with alacrity, his shadow merged into hers, and he materialized directly in front of her, the hard *clang* of her naked blade crashing against the metal of his cane ringing out around them both as he locked his gaze with hers from behind his dark glasses.

"You're early," he said.
