Akari (Minami Hamabe) is a first grade high school student. She is positive, realistic and outgoing with romance. Akari though is not good at expressing her feelings. She become friends with Yuna (Riko Fukumoto), who attends the same high school. Yuna has a hard time talking with strangers and she is passive with romance. She has never been in love, but she dreams of having a romance like those drawn in manga. Even though Akari and Yuna have totally different personalities, they are now good friends. Yuna gets attracted to Rio (Takumi Kitamura) who is Akari’s stepbrother and attends the same high school. Akari becomes attracted to Kazuomi (Eiji Akaso), who is Yuna’s childhood friend and attends the same high school. (asiawiki-2020)

My new found love for Akaso Eiji makes me watch movies I would have never noticed otherwise :D Not only him but also Kitamura Takumi, it was a double reason to pick it up.

I have outgrown school romances; however, this one didn't feel so childish.. maybe because out of the 4 leads, only 1 looked like a high-schooler? Plop, only Fukumoto Riko, who was lovely as a shy, quiet girl. She was adorable and maybe the best character besides Rio. Or maybe Rio was good because of Takumi? This actor makes every character likeable and mature. He is a natural.

The least likeable was Akari. Again, not sure if it was because of the actress who portrayed her. It is not like I dislike Hamabe but she is way overrated. There is something forced in her smile. I don't think nice characters suit her.

Eiji, on the other hand, was another mature student who wasn't a nuisance nor overdramatic. There is a sort of tangle of romance in the story: Yuna likes Rio and is friend of Akari; all of them live in the same building. Rio likes Akari and they were very close to start dating till Akari's mother announced her 3rd marriage with Rio's dad. So of course their romance was doomed, but still Rio couldn't forget her. Akari, on the other hand, wanted nothing -romantic- of him, in spite of her feelings. Time passed by, teenage romances get cured, and eventually Rio falls for Yuna. And Akari for Kazu. The End.

Nothing outstanding but at least it wasn't too manga-ish. The pace was well done; it wasn't slow and it keep me engaged the whole 2 hours. And I liked the BGM... Japanese drama/music certainly give the best OST.

**My rating: 8/10**
