Who's gonna drown in your blue sea?

I don't actually support any European team besides a mild simpathy towards Liverpool. However, there are teams I don't like at all, and I think Chelsea is on top of that list. Why I dislike them is not hard to answer: first, they're a club with an owner. When push comes to shove, what matters is that it's making money for its owner, not if the ( Read more... )

I really missed it x.x well, there was a tv, but I had my back turned to it. trying to find a way to talk and at the same time watching it, so I was like turning my head all the time xD
anyway my friends wanted to dance and I was like "not now..", trying to waste time. then some guys started screaming and clapping and when I turned to see, Internacional had scored! *damn fla haters/inter supporters fooled me, I'd bet flamengo scored* x.x minutes later started to play Franz Ferdinand's song 'do you want to' and I just said "let's dance". I wouldn't be able to watch the whole thing anyway..
when I got home my father said "flamengo lost, it was 2" *I started to think 2-0 and then..* "x 1." and somehow I didn't felt better xP it was like we had a change to pass and we didn't! what the hell?! ò.ó aff. I don't know if it was good or not to miss it, but they're both great teams, it'd be a good game for sure..
must say: congrats to you! ..and don't dare losing!! ¬¬ *talking as you're the manager or something.. hehe I know you got what I said xD*

lots of boys in my class went to stadium to support their teams. I don't think it's certain death but people got used to say that Rio is violent and everything else.. you can never trust if somebody say that it's totally safe or not.
my father always says that he want to take us to watch a final someday but then he says that's kinda complicated 'cause of the violence ¬¬ and he said about low profile match too, it's really a good choice^^
man, even a girl that I know that's a patty and thinks her finger nail will break at every 5 minutes has gone to a match already. prefer to forget this or I'll become depressed u.u"

Well, if I knew beforehand Inter was going to lose a match like that, I'd rather go to a party instead. The problem was you didn't know Flamengo was going to lose...
As for losing 2-1, I guess it does leave a bitter aftertaste as Flamengo was the one classified for 15 long minutes but then lost it. I know it isn't nice because during those 15 minutes, I was in your shoes!

Well, until last year I had gone to the stadium 3 times. I, too, thought it was a bit dangerous to go. But then my mom and I decided to take advantage of a promotion Inter did on March 8th, when women wouldn't pay and we went to the match. There were +46.000 in the stadium that day. It was awesome, but a bit overwhelming, that's why I think it's best if you go to a low profile match first. (Shorter lines for the bathroom, bar, etc.)
As for a final, those are the greatest matches to go, but I think, in your case, also the more complicated. Maracanã is huge, I can't imagine how it'd be to go to a match with other 80.000 people!
I have been to the final match of Campeonato Gaúcho this year. It was awesome, we beat Caxias 8-1, and the celebrations after the match were beautiful. And there wasn't one single problem that I'm aware of. But I don't know how it'd have been if it were Gremio against us at the final. My parents went to the greNAL that happened earlier and said it was also fine. I have other reasons not to go to a greNAL, though. I can't stand still while watching/listening to Inter x gremio. I don't think people around me would be very pleased with my blatant nervousness.

well the only day I went to maracanã was at the opening of Pan games in 2007. things seemed more organized 'cause of the lots of tourists that were going to be there (and politicians, press.. etc). everybody stayed on there seats for a long time, sometimes we stood up.. everything was really calm, totally different from a football game for sure xDDD
and yes, it's huge o.o" we had some problems to enter our sector, 'cause when we tried to do, the symphonic orchestra (something like that xD) were entering through the same sector xD what a problem! ..but my father throw us in anyway hahaha (he actually pushed us and we entered with the musicians xD)
I know how you feel about gremio x inter.. I hate when the game is fla x vasco ..but they're in second division (is that right?) now hihi xD
And wth?! how lucky you are! barca won T.T
yesterday I was so happy that I found a pic with Edwin and Messi and now I just feel like punching that little boy on the face ò.ó I don't know if you saw.. but we SUCKED!!!

it's so sad.. 'cause it's so true T.T

It's not the same thing for sure! Only football draws so much passion from the audience (and sometimes hatred too). Think hard, do some researching and try to go to a match. I'm pretty sure you won't regret.

Ah, yes. I remember how wonderfully nice it was when gremio was in the second division too. We're the fortunate supporters of two of the few teams that have never had to taste the bitterness of Segundona. Corinthians tried to make it fashionable last year, but let's face it, Serie B SUCKS!

Ow, poor Messi! The tiny little thing scored a headed goal, so he's not at fault, there must be something wrong with the people who let him do it! Namely Vidic and Ferdinand, the HUGE United defenders who let the little dwarf jump higher (and quite unmarked).
Seriously now, I understand your feelings. I wrote more about the match at your post.

That is one sad picture. It must be quite depressing to watch others celebrating while you can only look from afar, mourn your loss and wonder where did it all go wrong.

"(and sometimes hatred too)"
so true! xD
yeah, serie B SUCKS! hahaha xD

ok, I just hated Messi for a while but.. dwarf? hahaha xD
Vidic and Ferdinand are great defenders but at that night, what was that? messi's goal was repeated over and over and it was sad to see (specially in slow motion) Ferdinand LOOKING at messi while he was jumping to achieve the ball with his head (I was sad but almost die laughing when read a comment that said "Messi, good as he is, is the size of VDS LEG. AND HE SCORED. WITH HIS HEAD. OMFG."). I just felt the same despair as VDS (over and over haha xD).

didn't saw the celebration, turn off the tv after the final whistle. was trying to find some article with what the players said after the match and stuff.. then I found that pic. x.x

Ah, don't even let me get started about the hatred football unleashes. I mean, not football, but the stupid people watching it. I'm all for poking fun at rival supporters, but that's it. I'm totally against the hatred the supporters show one another. Punching and even killing one another is not about football, is gang work. Plus, I've been to too many matches in which some people seemed to be there only to annoy the hell out of other people. My mom thought I was going to have a coronary or beat the crap out of a guy the day we went watching Inter x Figueirense last year. This guy sitting next to me shouted names at the players for the whole first half. I grabbed my mom and moved places to get away from him. I ended up almost behind the goal, but I didn't care, I was so pissed! I don't understand what these people think they'll accomplish with that. I'm sure they're a lot more productive at their work places when they have someone else shouting in their ear how stupid and useless they are.
Last Sunday, we were winning and this old man kept calling the coach dumb and all. I really don't understand these people! Go to a match like that, late and freezing cold, not to support but to try and put down the players? His house must be a hell to be in on a Sunday afternoon. < /venting moment off >

Yes, the little dwarf, with all due respect. Seriously, Barcelona payed for the treatment for his growth problem, but they won't fool me into believing that he's 5ft7. No way Messi is 1.69m!!! I'm vertically challenged too, so I know what I'm talking about. I'd give him 1.65m, tops. ^^

I don't think Vidic is all that good. I've seen few of his games and too many mistakes. Now, Ferdinand is indeed great. Classy and skilled, just the way I like defenders. ^_~
