2009

A year of EXTREMES. amazing highs and lows. There was never a dull moment.

I'll start with Karu, because it is one of the few things that remained consistant throughout the whole year and shaped so many things. I have a love/hate relationship with my workplace, and since last new years it has taken me on such a ride. I laughed, I cried, I feared for my life, I fell for a co-worker, I loved, I lost, I got through it, I met so many unique people, i learned from it all and and i grew. Karu has brought some extremely unpleasant times, but it has also brought me the most money I've ever made, valuable contacts, knowledge, a relationship, some of greatest friends, and ultimately an experience that I'll never forget.

My family experienced some great shock and loss with the miracle recovery of one grandparent and the sudden death of another. These surprises brought such happiness and grief all at once, but I try to be thankful for how much I got to see my out-of-town family members this year, even under the most awful circumstances. i try to see the good in everything, and this experience has taught me that it's really all you can do sometimes. It also showed me that the world doesn't stop for your grief.

The end of 2009 brought the end of school. I graduated from FIU with a bachelor's degree in communications, which is something I am really proud of. 2010 is my year to figure out my next move, whether it be more school or starting a career. This is going to be a year full of learning.
