My best friend

Today Zod and I went to see an orthopedic vet specialist. Zod may have a torn acl. My vet has been monitoring his leg for the past two months and decided to send him on to the specialist (surgery may be needed). The new vet is really nice and very helpful. I like him a lot. Zod and I are going back on Friday morning; Zod is going to be sedated and x-rayed and examined to determine what exactly is going on and then the vet and I will discuss our options.

I am really worried about my special little guy. I want him to get better; for the past two months he has not been able to run or play and it has really been bothering him. I feel really fortunate that a vet who specializes in this sort of thing is in Atlanta. My regular vet even said, "if my dog had this injury, I would want this guy to do the surgery". That makes me feel a bit better. I know this is the most common surgery done on dogs, but I still feel apprehensive.  I just hate the idea of Zod going through all of this and not understanding what is going on and being scared. Am I being silly? Am I placing my human emotions on my dog? Maybe, but it is hard not to.

A lot of people don't seem to understand. The first question everyone asks is "how much will that cost?" which was honestly the last question I ever thought of. It doesn't matter what the cost is; I know I'll pay it whatever it is. It makes me sad to think that some people put a price on their pet's health. The only thing that matters to me is his quality of life. I miss long walks with my dog and frisbee at the park. I miss watching him frolic at the dog park. :(

Since I am feeling kind of down, I am going to write 10 things that make me happy as seen on other journals:

1. Falling asleep with Mark. He has the best snuggles in the whole world. (But there is a close second...see #2)

2. Reading a book on a rainy day with a snuggly corgi right next to me.

3. Finding (and buying) a stack of Under Armour sports bras on clearance for $15 each. I hate under-boob sweat!

4. Weekly soy caramel macchiato. Mmmmmm...is it Saturday yet?

5. Silly voicemails that Mark leaves me.

6. A trip to Whole Foods

7.  Morning duet with Putter while showering

8. Working for a good cause

9. Any Clash cd.

10. Winning the Oscar pool at the party for the second year in a row.
