I have been reading a lot of graphic novels lately. On Monday, Borders had a sale on them- buy 4, get one free. I lucked out and found all of the books I'd been looking for (save one elusive Dark Knight that I can't find anywhere) so I decided to take advantage of the deal. While checking out, the cashier gives me a 20% off coupon for my next purchase. In my excitement, I said:
"Awesome! I can use this in Atlanta on my Batman graphic novel!" As the words come out of my mouth, I realize how completely lame they are. The obviously very dorky cashier is looking at me like a starving man would eye a Christmas ham. It is not every day that a 'normal' looking girl drops $75 on graphic novels and loves Batman. We usually buy that shit online where no one can see.
"Oh my God I am a huge dork- I just said that out loud. I am going home now". Both Mark and the cashier were laughing at me. Mark later tells me that was adorable.
Think before speaking, Mandy.
