Whew, haven't posted in aaaaages. But hope you're all happy now - I'm gonna try to make a long post.
Key Club dinner at Ms. Gall's was tons of fun, esp. when we all saw Natalie's haircut, lol. Good food, and fun conversations about good/bad teachers. *cough* maybe we shouldn't have talked about certain teachers so much in front of Ms. Gall...
Then work experience last week at biotech, for 4 days, was awesome. Maya Klvana, a Montreal-born Czech grad student working for her Ph.D., was really friendly and taught me lots... Diana Britch, a student working in the lab for the summer, was so much fun as well :D and Mojgan, almost done her Ph.D. work, was just really friendly too. Interesting work, with recombinant DNA, plasmids, electrophoresis, restriction enzymes, etc. Sorta confusing... >.<
Then on Friday, played only 2 pieces at the village Friday night thing with Zap! because Mr. V took Carmel's copy of 'Begin the Beguine' and she couldn't transcribe it again. Oh well - got 50$ out of it ;) ... for about 15 minutes, that means about 200$ an hour :P
And on Friday, a guest from Edmonton came to visit for the weekend. His birthday was two days ago (Saturday) and he's now... ummm 80 something? lol he's quite old... he's a czech family friend :) and lots of fun, although he does smoke and when he does, the wind blows it into my bedroom so my windows have to be kept closed >.< We went out for dinner yesterday :) westernized chinese but w/e, I was hungry enough to eat anything.
Went shopping with Talia and Jem yesterday, at Park Royal. I bought... a skirt ($$$ aaaaaaaah), and flipflops ($$), and some other stuff. Anyway, it was fun, but I still can't believe I bought all I did... and I still need to buy some tshirts as well... >.<
Did first day of nanotechnology job shadowing for this week... it's so confusing! But it's cool :) Like, photons and quantum computers and such ... crystal lattices at the nanoscale... light waves in periods of femtoseconds... and I bet they're gonna quiz me on it tomorrow too >.< but I barely understand it all...
Haha, bus ride today back from UBC was absolutely packed... so I had to stand up for most of the ride... almost fell asleep standing up though, so it was all good. Need to remember to bring my music in the mornings... me sleepyhead when I don't have enough sleep so I forget everything...
