Love Bug

A/N: So I somehow came up with this really odd scenario in my head of what happened between SooTae prior to THIS and THIS. I know, delusional fangirl is delusional. BUT in my defense, I just really thought it was super cute of SooTae T_____T;; like SUPER. LIKE. ROFL. ok enjoy! Again, i'm not the best writer, my grammar sucks so if you find any mistakes, rofl just....yeah I fail.
Pairing: SooTae

“Would you stop spacing out?”

Sooyoung sucks in her breath when she feels Taeyeon’s hands quickly brush past hers.

“You’ve been acting really weird lately.”

Taeyeon gently places her hand on top of Sooyoung’s forehead, but puckers her lips when she realizes the girl isn’t sick.

“You’ve been…really quiet lately. It’s so not you.” Taeyeon finally finishes before caressing Sooyoung’s face.

“Your color seems pretty normal. Eyes still look functional…” Taeyeon says as she turns the younger girl’s face from side to side, checking for any possible indication of the girl not feeling well.

Sooyoung couldn’t do anything but sit in silence. All she can feel is Taeyeon’s warm soft hands against her face, all she can think of is how perfect those tiny little fingers would feel in between her owns, all Sooyoung can think of is how dangerously in love she is with this midget.

“Sooyoung! Are you listening?!”

Sooyoung stays mute, she only nods as she looks down to her plate. It remains untouched, unlike Taeyeon who is now done with her dinner. Taeyeon stands up, walks to the kitchen, and slips on the apron before asking Sooyoung.

“You’re seriously freaking me out. I even finished my dinner before you. That’s completely odd.”

Sooyoung remains seated, her eyes fixed on the plate full of food in front of her. She sulks at Taeyeon’s words.

“Do you need to visit the hospital?” Taeyeon asks as she runs her hands through the running tap water.

“I’m fine Taeyeonie. You worry about me too much.” Sooyoung finally answers, her very first response ever since Taeyeon started bombarding her with questions.

Taeyeon slightly frowns, dissatisfied with Sooyoung’s reaction, or lack thereof.

“Why wouldn’t I? You’re my Sooyoungie, of course I worry about your well-being.”

Sooyoung opens her mouth for a reply, but quickly closes them when Taeyeon suddenly whips around.

“Music Core comeback stage is tomorrow, if you’re feeling sick, I can just ask manager oppa to move the date.” Taeyeon says matter-of-factly, frustration evident in her voice.

Even then, Sooyoung remains rooted in her seat, her eyes never leaving the plate of food on the table.

She’s afraid that if she starts speaking, or even just stare at those cute brown little orbs of Taeyeon’s, that she’s going to completely lose her sanity. Sooyoung was always aware of that lingering feelings she felt whenever the short girl would shoot a smile at her. She was always aware of how she’d always feel utterly useless whenever she sees how happy the girl is with Tiffany.

But even then, Sooyoung never knew just how deep she is falling, and by the time she realizes that she’s in way too deep, there’s no way out. Because that’s how Kim Taeyeon makes her feel. Kim Taeyeon makes her feel all sorts of things. One moment she’d feel like she’s on cloud-9 because of how adorable Taeyeon looked when she came home with her new short hair, then the next she’d feel completely petrified when Taeyeon caught a cold and couldn’t even get out of bed for two days. That’s how Kim Taeyeon makes her feel, a roller coaster of emotions.

“Sooyoung, seriously. You ask me to be more open about what I feel, and here you are, ignoring me. Stop being a hypocrite.”

Taeyeon finally snaps as she takes the apron off, throws it over the countertop, and walks off.

“Oh that’s bad”

“Totally, you shouldn’t have made her mad”

“So what are you going to do now?”

Sooyoung can only sigh in defeat. She thought telling these three about what happened might help her dilemma, but all they did was frustrate her even more.

“Taeyeon kinda has a point though…you’ve been acting really strange lately” Yuri chimes in before taking a sit next to Yoona’s laying figure.

“But think of the bright side!” Sunny adds as she jabs another spoonful of yogurt into her mouth and continues on

“She’s eating less, which means more food for us!”

“Maybe she just doesn’t feel like talking to you.”

“Jessi!”

“What? I’m just saying, it’s kind of annoying to have someone constantly ask you if you’re fine. I mean, it’s obvious that she’s not. The girl hasn’t spoken anything since we came back from our Japan showcase, so I don’t know why you’re wasting your time asking her obvious questions.”

Taeyeon scowls at Jessica’s remark. She merely nods and buries her face on the pillow.

The girl does prove a good point, having someone repeatedly pester you with questions kind of gets annoying at times.

But this is Sooyoung, the spontaneous, mischievous, shikshin that never knows how to shut up, and that’s what bothers Taeyeon the most.

Sooyoung was never like this - not until recently - she’s always the one to lighten up the mood before any performance, always the one to crack out unnecessary jokes, always the first one to run to Taeyeon’s aid, always the one who keeps on insisting that Taeyeon talk more about what she feels and not keep things bottled up inside.

So yeah, Taeyeon is worried. She’s worried because her Sooyoungie is acting rather strange, and really, all she wanted to do was help the girl get rid of whatever’s bothering her, like how she’s helped Taeyeon in the past, but that obviously didn’t work out because Taeyeon just ended up walking out on the girl.

“Taeyeon-ah, what Jessi meant was, maybe you should let Sooyoung figure it out on her own?” Tiffany squeezes Taeyeon’s hands, flashes her biggest smile, and mouths the words I’m sorry as she shifts her eyes over to the girl sitting on the other end of the bed.

Taeyeon acknowledges this and smiles dejectedly, but not before she forgets to whisper It’s ok you should really tend to Sica’s needs before she rips my skin off.

“Taeyeonie…can we talk…?” Sooyoung asks before taking a seat on the edge of Taeyeon’s bed.

Taeyeon shifts her position and ushers Sooyoung to come and sit next to her.

“I’m sorry about earlier…”

“No, I should be the one apologizing. I was being immature, I shouldn’t have walked out like that, and I shouldn’t have kept bothering you with my questions. I’m sorry”

Taeyeon pauses and stares blankly at her bed-sheets.

Sooyoung stifles a chuckle while Taeyeon continues to stare at the white crumpled bed-sheets.

“Why are you worried about me?” Sooyoung finally decides to speak up.

Taeyeon raises her head up and says rather too happily.

“I already told you, because you’re my Sooyoungie.”

Sooyoung frowns at Taeyeon’s answer. She was expecting this kind of response from the shorter girl, but didn’t know that it’d dampen her mood this much. Maybe because she wanted something more along the lines of “Because I love you” or “Because I’m just as in love with you as you are with me.”

But that obviously isn’t the case.

“Is…that all?”

Taeyeon stiffens, darts her eyes back to where the bed-sheets are, somehow afraid that if she looks back up, she might end up spilling more than she’s willing to.

“Wha-what are you talking about, Sooyoungie - “

“Stop. Just. Stop calling me that.”

Taeyeon sits there, her hands grip the sheets tightly as she readies herself for Sooyoung’s outburst.

“Are you really that blind?”

“Taeyeon, I like you.”

Somehow, Sooyoung’s confession didn’t surprise Taeyeon one bit. Why? Taeyeon doesn’t know herself. But she does know about Sooyoung’s feelings. Right from the very start. But she’s never actually tried to do anything about it, because what can she possibly do?
That’s right. Nothing. Taeyeon can’t do anything; she can’t because she’s not the one in Sooyoung’s shoes. She’s not the one going through all these emotional roller coasters.

“I must be really crazy, but it scared me to death when you couldn’t get out of bed for two days because of that nasty cold. The agency was still going to let you DJ, despite the fact of you having that cold, so I offered to DJ on chinchin while you were gone. And all the while I was there, all I could think about was you. Am I crazy?”

“I thought I was going to lose you forever, Taeyeon. You were so sick, you look like you were going to die. And it scared me. And…that’s when I realized how important you meant to me. Not just as an unnie, but as someone I want to cherish forever.”

Taeyeon nods numbly, looks up, and catches the sight of a crying Sooyoung. She reaches out and gently wipes away the stream of tears flowing down the girl’s cheeks. The sight was, for lack of a better word, very endearing.

“I know…” Taeyeon forces out, her voice barely audible.

“I know…” She repeated, not knowing what else to say.

Taeyeon wants to say something more than just an I know, but what can she possibly say? She’s not even sure if she likes girls, let alone reciprocate the feelings.

The two remains seated on the bed as Taeyeon wraps her frail arms around the taller girl and embraces her in an attempt to calm down her racing nerves.

“You think it’s gross don’t you?” Sooyoung regretfully asks Taeyeon.

“I’ve been thinking about it so much, maybe too much. I’ve always adored you, and I’ve tried brushing it off, because everyone else adore you. You’re just too cute”

The last sentence brings a light smile on Taeyeon’s face and she tightens her arms around the girl.

“But you’re just too adorable. Always so cute, always smiling, always saying weird things, always so…you.”

Taeyeon nods again and remembers that she still has her arms around the other girl and quickly lets go. She carefully brushes off the new streaks of tears and mentally reminds herself to stop being so darn adorable.

“This. If you don’t like me, you shouldn’t be doing this for me. I know how to wipe my own tears”

Taeyeon chuckles at how kid like Sooyoung sounded, but still remembers to reply for the sake of clearing things up.

“I’m…not sure if I like you…or girls in general, I mean, I do like girls, I just don’t like them in that kind of way…”

A frown finds its way to Sooyoung’s face and she once again feels like her heart is being stabbed by millions of knives and daggers.

Taeyeon notices this and quickly tries to justify her previous comment.

“But…I think I sorta like you. Just sorta though, I don’t know. But I do know that I can’t stand seeing you like this. I miss my lively Sooyoungie. I just…miss my Sooyoungie…” Even Taeyeon herself was confused at what she had just said, but that’s the only way she can think of saying what she truly feels without sounding like an attachment Barbie.

“And…If you want…I can give this thing a try…but I’m not making any promises that it’ll work, but it also might, I don’t know”

This time, it’s Sooyoung’s turn to giggle at how adorable Taeyeon sounds like. She simply shakes her head and tells Taeyeon before standing up.

“It’s ok, you don’t have to do any of that. I’m happy that this is finally off my chest. I’m just….”

Just what? She’s definitely just not crushing on Taeyeon. Obsessed? Yeah, sure you can say that. Love-struck? Oh, totally. Infatuated? She’s not that creepy, but yeah she does find Taeyeon somewhat interesting to observe.

“I’m just…happy that you think you ‘sorta’ like me” is all Sooyoung says before she feels soft, warm hands snake themselves around her waist. The action surprises her, but she likes it nonetheless.

“Can I just make sure….though?” She hears the shorter girl ask as the grip around her waist tightens.

Sooyoung grins from ear to ear as she slowly turns around and faces Taeyeon.

Taeyeon tries to cover the small tint of red on her cheeks before tip-toeing up and brushes her lips over Sooyoung’s pink ones.
