A Blank Stare is Better Than an Empty Chair presents a series of monologues and songs which deal with female roles and identity, as well as family and romantic relationships
Show Characters:
· Chloe - A young female combats the social injustice of coffee bean pickers in foreign countries.
· Ms. Walsh - Storyteller for a local bookstore brings her fable to children everywhere.
· Madge - A woman aging in a nursing home, ignored her entire life and even more so here in the home.
· Liz - Growing up in a dysfunctional family, which includes an older gay brother who forces his lifestyle on the entire family.
· Karyn - A horrible pain from her past surfaces and she deals with the ramifications of having kept this secret from her husband.
· Dulce - An aging drag queen's interview with a New Yorker Reporter hits a nerve too close to home.
