(no subject)
how cool did it look outside today?! i was outside doing my homework and the sky changed from blue to grey to orange and then a yellow. it was amazing. speaking of amazing, the girls a capella group was amazing today. props to courtney and all the other girls. i really liked it. i don't want to marry them all like the boys a capella group (sorry girls), but that's for different reasons.
so prom is quickly approaching. i can't decide whether or not i am excited. i mean i guess i should be, especially since i didn't go last year, but i just can't ever get motivated for dances. i'm sure it will be fun once i get there, but the anticipation of my dress looking right and my hair not being a total mess along with some horrible make-up job (yea that would be my luck). i've decided that guys have it easy on the whole prom thing. (1) they rent a tux (notice not spending $200 plus on a dress that you can probably only wear once even though you convince your parents that there are at least 2 other places you will wear it in the near future), and it requires really no shopping other than making sure it coordinates with your date's dress if you are into that (2) it is basically their own fault if they don't have a date. they can ask whoever they want to and its not awkward. yea girls can ask the guy, but honestly what girl wouldn't rather be asked to avoid the awkwardness. (3) they don't have to make hair/make-up appointments and worry about all the possible catastrophes that could arise in the two hours leading up to pictures and the dance.
on another note, i can't go to chicago anymore. i'm pretty upset, but i figure it is more important for me to focus on the next four years of my life rather than a four day trip. i wish i could fit the two together somehow, but it just doesn't seem to me working out. ya'll will have to take plenty of photos and let me know how it all goes down. i'm sure it will be a blast and i will definitely feel like i am missing out.
