Some Travels I've Made This Year

Jun 15, 2008 20:52

Joe and I have made quite a few short trips this year. In February we travelled to Las Cruses, New Mexico and visited Mesilla, just south of Las Cruses. Mesilla is where a judge and jury sentenced Billy the Kid to death by handing for murder. The shopping is good in Mesilla if you are looking for southwestern art, Indian pottery and other goods. In March, we went to El Centro, California, for the Blue Angels Air Show and then In April, we were on our way to Yuma to visit the old Yuma Territorial Prison. On the way to Yuma we stopped to see petroglyphs about 15 miles west of Gila Bend, Arizona. We also went to Blythe, California, in April and stopped to see the Blythe Intaglios, or scrapings on the desert floor made by ancient people. On May 31st, we went to my daughter's graduation in Anaheim, California. She finally got her Masters Degree!

Below is a picture of, Jon, one of the Budweiser Clydesdales. The Clydesdales were at the Blue Angeles Air Show in El Centro, California.

They are truly beautiful!! You can click here, to see pictures from all these places. Be sure to follow the links at the top of the pages to see all the places we've been.

We have had a very good time traveling so far this year. In October we have a trip to Ohio planned to see my mother for her 90th birthday!
