Vacation > work

I have so much homework to catch up on. I've been slacking a bit lately, maybe. I just don't think that this class is all that well organized, and I resent the professor scheduling class over break (not that I went anyway; I've been enrolled at CC since 2010, and I have never had a professor hold class over break (most of them explicitly make it a point to reschedule the hours for later inthe semester so that we don't have to have class over break!). Combine that with the fact that I actually had plans for Wednesday (and seriously, lots of teachers, etc. go away over the break) and I'm just a little soured to this prof. I'll get the assignments in because I want the credit, but I also want my vacation to be a vacation, sorry.

And my vacation has been a good one thus far. Had a much, much needed weekend of catching up and drinking with my sister. She picked me up on Sunday, and we went to Strange Brew with her fiance and his friend Evelyn (who, for the record, I really like, and I wouldn't mind hanging out with again, if it's ever an option? She apparently lives, like, mere streets away from my parent's house, so probably fewer than two or three miles from me). The one sucky thing is we found out that they did away with the nights of unlimited "$3 single liqcuor drinks"a nd "$3 beers;" now the specials only run until 8 pm. Luckily, our server was super nice, and we were in a relatively unoccupied area of the bar, so we got to build up a rapport and got her to bring us each two beers in the ten minutes before the special ended - after that, those of us who still wanted beer switched over to PBR (which is shitty, but only $2, and perfectly servicable if you've already been drinking). We had some fun times and about half way through the night, Steve started texting my mom about masturbation innuendos, which had Joce and I fucking rolling on the floor (my dad cooks this meal on a regular basis which involves him tenderizing pork chops with a mallet, and it gets kind of messy; apparently the other day, knowing he was making this meal, my mom remarked to Steve, "Oh God, Bob is upstairs beating the meat again, I hate when he does that, it gets all over my glasses," and Steve was just bowled the fuck over. Og course he had to bring this up days later, while drinking, via text message. I was simultaneously texting my mom with things like "OMG DID YOU REALLY SAY THAT PLEASE DON'T SAY SHIT LIKE THAT I CAN'T FUCKING TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY IF YOU SAY THAT SHIT," and it was overall ridiculously entertaining). We got home a little before 11, at which point Steve went to bed and Joce and I made watermelon drinks with chunks of watermelon, watermelon licquer, and grenadine. We then both settled into the guest room with Kyo and watched "The Blind Banker," because I'm going to get Joce into Sherlock if it kills me. We both conked out around 12:30, and woke up at 5:30, because that's what we do now.

Next day we headed back to my house while Steve went to work on my dad's car; Joce and I made curried chicken fingers and fresh guacamole and Mel came over and had a lot of wedding talk, including actually looking at dresses (fucking finally) and favors and shit. Oh, and I lent Joce porn? Because apparently we do that now, too.

Yesterday I discovered why I should never, ever be allowed in a casino, and we called this revealation, "Going to Dave & Buster's," which was super fun. There were hoardes of children everywhere, which I admit was a little frustrating (though I have a way higher tolerance for young kids than Andy does, but if you go to a place that sort of prides itself on being, like, 'Chuck E. Cheese for grown-ups,' you kind of have to wonder why these parent don't take the kids to, you know, Chuck E. Cheese and let the grown-ups have their haven), but overall it was a lot of fun. We had lunch (which was waaay more filling than I had anticipated) and spent far, far too much money on our Power Cards and got in something like four hours of freakin' game play. OH MY GOD. There were a few skill games that I was legit good at and wound up wasting (is it a waste if you're good at them?) so, so many credits on them, and then there were games of chance that I just couldn't fucking tear myself away from, holy crap. 502 tickets on a game of chance; 354 tickets on a game of chance, 600 tickets on a skill game... I know I have a kind of addictive personality, and if I ever go to a casino, someone best come and put a cap on my shit. But not Andy, because he apparently worse than I am in that department. I considered saving up my points for something "big," but when I really looked at the prizes - game systems, but I can't play the current gen systems (graphics give me vertigo), and the appliances were cool, but I already own them all (except a deep fryer, but I don't WANT a deep fryer, that would be a bad idea), so I opted to just get silly things, so I got a Hello Kitty backback, and Domo and Pikachu plushies, because I am nothing if not a raging fucking geek.

Tomorrow is the "All White" Party at Jocelyn's Restaurant (all white CLOTHING, because, yeah, the name sounds a bit not good; but it's a dance party and they just got black lights), and we'll probably catch Raeann up there (which will be cool, because I haven't seen her or Dale since New Year), and then Sunday is my mom's birthday, but trying to convince her to do something enjoyable for any reason is like pulling teeth, so.... yeah.

Ugh, do I really have to go back to work on Monday??

drinking, social gatherings, vacation
