What a day! We played some SERIOUS crumpets today. It was very rainy, and very muddy, and very awesome. 3 hours of running about in the rain (I'm proud to report that I never went down in the mud once. Although I wouldn't have reported that on the field, as someone would have almost certainly brought me down). Christine got the muddiest person award. And we all had a blast. I've had many good meetings of late, and a few stinkers (but those are offset by the good). Mel just made the William Baker singers yesterday, so we're excited for her to be back in a good, quality, auditioned ensemble. I'm hoping something will open up for horn. Although we're getting lots of musical activity at the church, so that's nice.
Speaking of, we just joined Leawood Baptist Church this morning, which is neat, but we've been attending for a while, so it didn't exactly surprise anyone. I also formally bought melissa's ring this evening. It took a bit of bullet-biting to pay off that large of a sum, but it's a heck of a lot better than continuing to let it build at 27% interest. By the way, if you buy a ring at Zales, they default to putting it on their 27% interest card. This does two bad things. 1) It gives you a new Credit Card, like it or not (and this is not a good card) and 2) It defaults to an absurd interest rate. So if you buy a pricey piece of jewelry, make sure you have a means of paying for it without using their credit provider.
