It's been a good week so far. Saturday John and I headed out to Lawrence for a draft. We missed the main show, but a few people stayed around to draft with us after. I went 4-0 in games (2-0 in matches) and ended up drawing with someone else who went 2-1 in matches (and who I beat in the first round) because Joel had already left at that point, and I didn't want to get into an argument with this guy over $7. But I won back most of what I paid to get in, which is pretty good when you consider that I also got to keep the cards. Then back through the rain to KC to eat at Elephant Bar with friends for Dan's birthday.
Sunday was a very nice day, just rainy enough to be cool for crumpets. Then we played D&D into the evening. It was a very good time, and Brad did a darn fine job of being the DM. Fast forward through M-T and on into W. I had a good meeting yesterday afternoon, then headed home. For the record, if you don't need to be on College Blvd going west between about 4 and 6, don't be on it. The College and Pflumm intersection is messed up and it's got traffic backed up a LONG way. So it took my about 3 times as long as normal to get home. But that's okay, because when I got home, John and Mel were waiting for me, and Eric arrived shortly thereafter. We ordered (and picked up) some food from Chartreuse Caboose and came back and finished out the night with 3 games of Settles of Catan (which Mel bought for me last week). We had a great time! If you're a fan of games, and you haven't tried Settlers, it is a must play.
