So Ann Galz (sp?), the Artistic Director of OperaWorks, was at U of M today and gave a few masterclasses. I was fortunate enough to participate in one of them, which focused on opera improv. I'm terrified of improv and yet I found myself having conversations in gibberish, improvising a capella trios, and improvising an ariette and duet as part of an improvised opera scene. It was AMAZING. So amazing that I decided to take the audition at the last minute.
Seriously, it was one of the most amazing 2 hours of my musical life. I HIGHLY recommend attending masterclasses with her if you can, and I'm sure her summer program is fantastic as well. And as a perk.. it's in SoCal.

That's all. :)
