Just saw Ironman and The Hulk in a row. Our original plan was to see The Zohan and something else- Kung Fu Panda, I believe, but because Joey and I went to hang out with his friend Mac and go to the movies with him and me (We always go to movies together when I'm here, anyway.) so, trying to find something that fit, all we could see was Ironman and The Hulk.
Me: .... Ughhh. The sheer testronome in the these theaters is gonna kill me -_-.
I actually was super-dead before it, and wanted nothing more than a nap. I sorta considered asking Joey if we could do this tomorrow, but Mac's mom was coming for us and such. Not often I get to see a movie (though this is, oddly, the third Friday in a row I've gone to the movies...) so, sucked it up.
Also, those boys are impossible -_-. I told them to treat me the same as a guy, with boobs. .... I don't know what worse, me being a girl or a guy. They were RIDICULOUSLY perverted- and actually, I'M perverted. You know what? Carissa once said it and it's so true. I can be completly perverted when it DOESN'T deal with me. When it's about me I'm just like- STOP. NOW. PLEASE. Should never have told them about my lopsidded boobs -_-. Though I tell EVERYONE. And then Mac apparently tried to "girl talk" me and talk about like, who in the movies was hot and who I thought was hot and I'm like- stop. Now. I think he might have been hitting on me- it was a VERY odd attempt to do so, at any rate, but when he asked who I thought was cuter, him or Joey, I was just like... No. Just, no. Honestly, I don't think any of them is REMOTELY cute. At all.
Also, after Expo... I have two things now I want to treat myself to after Seattle. The previous was a NICE set of copic markers. And now, I want a DS. A nice, shiny, DS. WHY IS IT EVERYTIME I LOOK, THERE'S A NEW FF? This time it was a DS Crystal Chronicles, but I swear, EVERY TIME. I CAN'T KEEP TRACK ANYMORE GODDAMIT! There's SO many games I could play- FF galore, Phoenix Wright, ANIMAL CROSSING. I saw Animal Crossing and went- OMG, ANIMAL CROSSING? I -LOVE- ANIMAL CROSSING!
Yep. Ds for sure.
Anyway, so we went to see Iron man, and honestly, I had no idea what it was about. Everyone said it was amazing, and I knew it was about, well, Iron Man. So went to watch it, hoping for the best- I could laugh through the fight scenes, right?
.... IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING.
Like, NO JOKE. Like, OH. MY. GOD. The acting was PHENOMONAL, and while I wouldn't, per say, call it REALISTIC... it had that element to it. It had the "Hmm, I can see that." And seeing Tony's character development was amazing- from a terrible weapon's dealer to a reformed man (who's still cocky and arrogant) and understands the hardship of war. Thought the end was a bit Botchy- when his old partner entered the suit and it was SO ULTRA POWERFUL BUT HE STILL BEAT IT... Ya. Bit, uhh, ok then. But it was honestly wonderful. I liked his secretary, alot. I liked him- his acting was wonderful. Again, Mac was saying he could tell he was hot (as he kept assuring me, he wasn't gay, he was so confedient in how straight he was he could note these things. Uh. Okay then honey. Whatever you say.) but it wasn't that for me- it was the ACTING. EXACTLY like Johnny in Pirates- I don't watch him for his hotness, because it doesn't exist hidden behind fake teeth and gross facial hair. I watch him, because his acting his PHENOMENOL. And LORD knows I am a characterization freak. So, Iron Man? Was AMAZING. I could NOT believe how MUCH I adored it. Especially the end, he's being all... well trying to lie and then goes "... I am Iron Man." His character so perfectly. I'm like *HEADDESK* Idiot.
So we finish it and jump over to The Hulk, and I sigh knowing nothing can be as good as that was- especially, THE HULK. I mean, I know they're both Marvel Movies things, and Mac was ranting about how they're gonna make a Team Avengers movie with all of them together (Me: That's. So. Uberly. LAME. -_-.) But, really, after IRON MAN? Nothing could compare, especially a green gross thing.
So I set in to watch it, kinda sad I wouldn't be finished with the night with Iron Man.
*BLINKS*
*REPEADELY*
BEST. TWO. MOVIES. TO WATCH. IN A ROW. EVER! I freaked out happily when they had Spark Industries (or whatever) on the weapons at the beginning, and at the end? In the little secret ending thing? I mean, they cut out at the end of him increasing his heartbeat (so trying to cause it now, to control it) and I thought- why is there another scene? I suppose because it was so important that they couldn't hope everyone would stick around for the Credits- half the theater did, and when nothing happened we all had a collective "AWWWWWW!". But, OH MY GOD, Everyone started cheering and clapping the second Tony walked on! OH MY GOD! Ok, apparently -I- started that. I could have sworn I didn't. Just joined soon. But apparently it was me going "OH MY GOD YAYYYY!" that made everyone else go- DUDE. AWESOME!
But, back tracking. It was wonderful. As expected, I did NOT like the parts where he Went Green and Fugly. If I ever buy the movie, I'm fast forwarding past them all. And just like Ironman, but even moreso because I didn't like his 'power', per say, the ending battle was Iffy. To say it nicely. But, the story of him, Bruce, (Ok, Marvel, TWO BRUCE'S IS TOO MUCH!) as a MAN? I loved it. I was sitting on the edge of my seat. Mac and Joey laughed at me for getting sucked into the love story- Screw It, That's Me Okay? Die-hard romanticst. This wonderful, mild-mannered man who's forced to deal with this terrible TRAUMA and tries to control it, to be a Good Man despite it-
See where this is going?
About half way through, I gasped and covered my mouth.
Oh my fucking god, it was Remus.
Not that Betty was Dora- too soft spoken and mild-mannered (though I adored her. I LOVE Liv Tyler. She's wonderful.). But Bruce was Remus. Through and through. More Remus than David Thewlis could ever be- he just went big and green and fugly instead of furry, :P. Even the age and... nothingness about him. He was nothing special. It's also why the two movies complimented each other nicely- Tony is this egocentrical, top-of-the-world man, everyone knows him. While Bruce was VERY intelligent and smart, but he was a mild-mannered 30-something man, who had a terrible thing go wrong on him.
It was Remus. His plight, and running away from all those people, and trying to HELP them, and even the love- even if she wasn't anything like Dora. It was like, Shades, brought to the big screen... with a few (big) differences. But how he ran away from society to stop people being hurt by his Affliction.... god, even how he couldn't Control it but he could tunnel his anger at the Other Creepy Hulk Wannabe and deal with it THAT way- it was Shades, it was Greyback and Remus. Again, I REALLY didn't like whenever he went Green and Gross, at all. Just, cheap and so unreal and, gah. But the storyline was so- and Sal just pointed out who he was, the guy from fight club, which SHOULD have been obvious but I couldn't place him. No, not storyline. The character development. It was Remus. It WAS Remus. Screw the canon movies, I have The Hulk for my Remus fix. Even the lines in his face- wrong hair color, but... and his desitute and poor sitaution- DO I NEED TO GO ON ANYMORE ABOUT HOW HE WAS REMUS?
This makes sense, I was oddly attracted to The Guy (he no have a name anyway :P) in Fight Club. Felt odd about it. But here- God. GOD.
Both endings were actually really, REALLY similar, with the battles. People made Better and Enhanced Versions Of The Main Superhero that were like EPICALLY EEVVILLL and the First Versions! Somehow bested. Again, I didn't like the final battles in either- Especially the Hulk, it just dragged ON. Because I hated those fights. Ironman was mildly entertaining and actually... no, I liked them alot. But, ya.
I recommend to EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE, to see these movies. And, if you can, in a row- Ironman first. It was chance, luck, and AMAZING. I was SO giddy at the end, we missed half of what Tony said because we were cheering too loud! You think you don't like Superhero movies, brainless actiony things? Ya, I don't either. I love storyline and characterization. And these? Were AMAZING. I can't tell you which I liked more- I'm impartial to the Hulk, of course, because I'm just so in love with Remus, but Ironman was AMAZING, SO amazing.
I NEVER see movies, and all these 4 I've seen in the theaters these past 3 weeks I've thought "I wanna see that again." SO badly. I wanna see the first Hulk, but I heard it's completly different. And uberly lame. So, *sighs*.
All the little details- Bruce super glued his cut close, and just... oh my god. Oh my GOD. I was SO giddy afterwards. I couldn't believe how much I adored these movies.
Watch them. In a row if you can. I'm gonna see if I can drag anyone else along to see both in a row also- maybe, the thing is I don't go back home for another 2 weeks and Ironman might be out of theaters, by then.....
God. God. God.
Also, amused by TONS that the Evil Guy Of Fugly Dinosaur DOOOOM in Hulk was like, 5 feet tall. Also that when he went EVILLLLL he could still speak -_-.
*Hugs*
