...Yeah, maybe I should have done this earlier. Shut up, I know. There are spoilers for both Soulless Army and King Abaddon in here.
Name? Masahiro Takenata (Birth), Raidou Kuzunoha XIV (Title)
Age? Started at seventeen, turned eighteen during King Abaddon.
Canon? Devil Summoner Series
Background? Mm. Short version? Mom's a summoner, he started training at seven after he got caught up in one of her cases. Long version is below, under a separate cut.
-----------------------
Okay. Here goes. Masahiro's mother is a summoner that specializes in tracking - mythologically speaking, all of her demons are based on dogs. She had headed out to Okinawa to look for a Shiisaa when she met Masahiro's father - a man a little older than herself who was capable of seeing demons. There was a minor scandal among the clan when they decided to get married, but it had died down by the time Masahiro was born.
When Masahiro was seven, his mother worked a case with the Thirteenth Raidou, clearing a nest of cultists out of the Capital. Specifically, a group of flat-out insane Dark Summoners. One escaped, followed Masahiro's mother back, assuming she was married to the Thirteenth, and kidnapped Masahiro.
He lost control of his summoned pack of Ghouls and was messily torn apart and devoured by them. While Masahiro watched. The Thirteenth arrived then, and had his demon (a Sati) protect Masahiro while he took on the Ghouls himself. In the end, Masahiro came out of the ordeal more terrified of the Thirteenth than the demons.
A week later, he started training to be a summoner himself. Details can be found in Masahiro's Midnight Channel thread - it's late, and I'm in no mood to type all that shit out again. One thing to note - if he hadn't overcome the trauma of the kidnapping, he never would have been allowed to try for Raidou.
-----------------------
There was an incident with a Magical Elvis Love Chapel where Masahiro ended up marrying both Shura and she-Futomimi. The brainwashing wore off before anything happened. The aftereffects - between the fact that Masahiro had already made his peace with the fact that Shura was already in a relationship and his own desires to only marry for love, caused Masahiro to have a minor nervous breakdown. As a result, he picked a door at random and walked through it, hoping for a vacation.
-----------------------
As of King Abaddon, Masahiro is no longer dating Kaya.
Now that he has a full complement of demons on hand, he spends a lot of his free time patrolling the mall.
The movepools of his demons don't explicitly match the Devil Summoner games - Kohryu, for example, is based more on Persona 4, while Tao Tie is currently running on Nocturne's moveset.
All of his demons fall into one of the orders from Devil Summoner - currently, only Sparna and Kelpie aren't in either game. Sparna is Wind-Order, Kelpie is Skill-Order.
Having just received Mithra from Shura, he now has a demon that doesn't fit any categories he can think of.
He has recently revamped his demon list.
Masahiro's father taught him how to cook. Granted, it's campfire cooking, but he does know the basics. Basically, if it can be cooked over an open fire with minimal equipment, he can make it. He has a private ambition that combines cooking and training - he wants to kill and cook a bear.
As can be noted in the Raiho case, Raidou is technically capable of ignoring the fourth wall in-game. This was played with a little bit, culminating in the conversation in the comment box below - Masahiro actually can break the fourth wall, but only in response to someone else. It first showed up during the Mitsuru Channel event - when he was stoned out of his mind, it flipped the switch from passive to active.
He recently went on vacation after the Elvis Wedding Chapel Incident. He worked with Batman and Stephen Colbert to defeat the Aztec god Xipe Totec, The Flayed One.
As a result of this, The Flayed One's nemesis, Amalthea the Goat of Plenty, granted him the ability to conjure up bread at will. He has to know the recipe, however.
-----------------------
So. Here are the people he knows in the DR, and what he thinks of them.
Naoto Shirogane's Shadow (reversedwheel) - Strange kid with a nice hat. Helped save Lady Shura.
Naoto Shirogane (shirogane_heir) - ...Okay, Naoto's got issues. Some serious ones, apparently. Listening to what he saw as a brave, talented individual whine about how useless they were pissed Masahiro off quite a bit. It seemed like all Naoto needed was a swift kick in the ass, however, so hopefully that's settled.
Kenzou Satake (bathhouse_boss) - He's not a bad guy, even if he is Yakuza. He takes care of his territory and the people in it, so Raidou doesn't have a problem with the whole criminal thing.
Kaya Daidouji (innocuus) - Only saw her the once. At the time, Masahiro had been dating his Kaya, so it got kind of awkward.
Raido Kuzunoha (verbose_summoner) - He's...not really all that much like the Raido he remembers dealing with. Poor guy has shit luck. And strange taste in men, but that's not something Masahiro wants to think about.
Raido Kuzunoha (wolfish_fox) - This one...Masahiro's only seen him the once, but he doesn't really want to see him again. He is kind of an asshole.
Narumi Shouhei (narumishouhei) - The boss. He's slightly different than the one Masahiro knows, but mostly the same. No matter what the incarnation, he reminds Masahiro of his Uncle Tawara.
Lisa Silverman (notginko) - He's met her a few times. A nice girl, but he really doesn't know her much better than that.
Raidou Kuzunoha 40 (yonjuudaime) - Oh boy. Ohhhh boy. This one is complicated. However, as of the end of Masahiro's Midnight Channel event, he has flat-out stated that he thinks of her as his granddaughter. He's also been known to refer to her as such in conversation since then.
Thanatos (greekreaper) - Pretty cool guy. Give it some time, and they could be good friends. As of the angelic invasion and aftermath, Masahiro considers him a friend. Is slightly put out by his canon-update - what happened, man?
Hito-Shura (demifemme) - His best friend. She helped him out when he was first turned into a Hua Po - he recently stated that was the spark that ignited their friendship. He knows how strong she is, as well - she is one of the few people in the Mall he considers his equal in combat. Is currently glad to have her back in the Mall.
Lucifer (original_rebel) - Actually first met him in his home world. Because all he did was show up and act mysterious, Masahiro didn't get the whole story. Assumed he had given Dahn false hope and hated him for that. Questioning at the clinic disproved that - he's feeling neutral now.
Futomimi (songofthesybil) - First met her...well. First met her under what could be termed 'non-ideal' circumstances. Still. Someone so obviously important to Shura - yeah. Once again, you'd have to go through him first.
Dominion (leader_of_nation) - Not exactly forgiven, but at least Masahiro isn't going to kill him.
Succubus (floaty_puppy) - IGNORING FOREVER.
Shinjiro Aragaki (busstopsign) - Comrades in Mall-related transformation weirdness. Also - Shinjiro is a much better cook than Masahiro himself is.
Mitsuru Kirijo (icyfeisty) - Well. He feels a certain amount of guilt when he thinks about her - what with the whole thing where he almost accidentally killed her. Mixed with that is astonishment - she didn't blame him - and some respect as well - from what he saw, she was dealt a worse than usual hand in life, but she's still moving forward. Masahiro approves of people who work to shape their own future.
