The New YP! + A Pound of Music!
Okay, since it has officially been too long since I have updated, you guys get a double!
1Today was the first day at the new YouthPride center. It wasn't really finished, but everything was taking shape nicely, and I am pleased to say that I am now fully accepting the new location. I had previously said that I didn't like it based on where it was located, but that was only because I don't like the Dekalb Avenue area going into Atlanta. The address is technically on Dekalb Avenue, but really, it is in the Inman Park/Little 5 Points/Edgewood area, which is really a nice area. I know I am going to love it, and I am going to take pride in being part of making it YouthPride's new home. Tonight we had Boytalk in one of the semi-finished rooms that is to become a conference room. It was the only room to have seating for the group, lol. Group was okay, we discussed current events like Hurricane Katrina (you can see the before/after satellite imagery at http://maps.google.com --and if you haven't started using google instead of mapquest, you are behind the curve! the maps are draggable, and you can then see satellite to help you navigate), the death of Chief Justice Rhenquist(sp), shopping, etc. Oh, and I got lots of pics of the new center 'in progress' as I said I would for Edward and the other YP staff. 2 The other day, Brandon (Lancaster007)and I saw Kris at the Gap, and we told her we came by one day to get some clothes, but missed her. She told us she hated missing us, and then I told her I would come back in a week to get them then. I asked if she had any more iTunes cards, and she told me the program ended, but she'd see what she could do. She came back with a Gap bag full of cards! Seriously, there were like, 170 of them! I am STILL trying to figure out just what to download....it's more or a chore than you would think to find that much music to download! No complaints, though.
