So up until this term I have been programming in C++. My teacher preferred that we use Visual Studio to do this and since the school provided it free I obliged. It only runs in Windows. Since I have a MacBook Pro that let's me run Windows using BootCamp I just have to reboot into Windows whenever I needed to do my homework. Nice that I have the option, but a nuisance. There are options for programming C++ on a Mac, but my teacher wanted us to use Virtual Studio if at all possible. This term we are working with Java for the first time. Our teacher has selected a programming packaged designed for intro to Java called BlueJ. Since Mac comes with the Java Development package pre-installed (yay Mac!) all I had to do was pop in the CD that came with my textbook and drag the icon across. Yay for programming Java without needing to reboot. It looks much cooler too.
