*bangs head on desk*
So... the water to my house got shut off this morning, on what may well turn out to be one of the hottest days of the year. Have I mentioned the landlord is an idiot?
I share a two-bedroom apartment with my ex-husband on the first floor of a duplex in an inner-ring Cleveland suburb. (Gotta love that economic "recovery".) The rent

Yes, I actually did get out of that apartment, greater Cleveland, and Ohio in general. It's kind of an amusing and totally cool story, too. Shortly before I posted about the water thing, I received a friend request on Facebook from a gentleman named Jeff, whom I'd met back in the mid-1990s when I lived in Cincinnati. We'd been colleagues in the Jaycees (the same civic organization in which I met my ex-husband). Jeff is a native of the Cleveland area himself, and only lived in the Cincinnati area for a couple of years or so, but when he left we'd lost touch. Long story short, I accepted his friend request and discovered he was living in Annapolis, MD. He'd actually lived in Cleveland for a few years between a sojourn in Delaware and moving to Maryland, but although we only lived less than 20 miles apart our paths hadn't crossed, despite our having a couple dozen friends in common. Life is weird.
Anyway, he soon learned that I had set my sights on moving to Maryland myself clear back in 2010. We chatted online, and when he came into town over Thanksgiving 2013, we got together for drinks. Kept talking, too, and he invited me to come crash with him and his housemate in Annapolis once I was ready to move. He visited Cleveland again in March 2014, after I'd already agreed to come to Annapolis, and it became clear that we had potential as a couple. (We'd never dated when we knew each other in Cincinnati, as I was in a relationship with someone else at the time.) Jeff helped me get my Grand Cherokee fixed, too, so that I could get to Maryland, and in April 2014 I loaded what I could into my vehicle and drove overnight to Annapolis. That December his housemate got an apartment, and we bought a house on the other side of the river from the Naval Academy.
Like I said, life is funny. :)
