Chapter I
- Donghae -
Even though it was nearly two hours since the last dance practice, Donghae could still feel his muscles aching from where he had forgotten to stretch them. Donghae came late to class, and it was the dancers jobs to stretch and change before their teacher came into class. Donghae only had the chance to switch into his sweats before their teacher barged in, his eyes flashing and barking at them to start their dancing exercises.
He never understood the need for stretching, other than it made your muscles loose and ready to move freely. Donghae never really took the chance, but now that he knew that it's aftereffects were painful and lasting he was sure that he was going to hit Eunhyuk over the head the next time his best friend messed up the time of their class.
Donghae fought the urge to stood ramrod straight, because sitting in his usual slouching way in the bench made his spine hurt even more. His face twisted painfully on many occasions, but he was able to fight it off before anyone else could see.
Unluckily for him, his long-time seat partner and friend could see right through his disguise. "Are you okay?" a blonde girl, reaching only up to his shoulder and with delicate features, said worriedly. "I saw you wincing, oppa, don't pretend you weren't."
"Just forgot to stretch before dance practice," he said to assure her despite the embarrassed flush on his cheeks; how lame was it that he had to admit that he forgot the basic rule of dancing?
Jessica didn't pick up on his worries and laughed. She hit his back roughly, causing him to growl a curse word under his breath. "Serves you right for being careless. Didn't Eunhyuk-ssi tell you that class was at nine?"
"Bastard thought it would be funny to play a prank on me," Donghae grumbled in response. "I'm going to get him back so bad..."
Jessica rolled her eyes. "You guys are your stupid childhood rivalries. I'm sure he just forgot what time it was himself. Stop being so harsh on him."
Donghae fought the urge to pout childishly, because that wasn't how nineteen-year-olds with their own apartment room and job acted. He felt like it though. Donghae knew that Eunhyuk had told him the wrong time on purpose. That was the way they showed that they cared.
"Oppa," Jessica started thoughtfully, tapping her chin, "Did Eunhyuk-ssi tell you about the karaoke place we're going to after classes today?"
Donghae rolled his eyes, shaking his head as they made their way outside of campus. "I don't think Eunhyuk told me anything in the past week other than how his life sucks and how he needs a girlfriend."
Jessica chuckled in her usual way, corners of her lips pulling up easily. "Well, this is how it's going to be; me and Taeyeon unni are going to meet up with some of her friends from lessons. They're bringing friends and unni is bringing friends too, so she asked me to bring some too. I heard that Eunhyuk was asked to go along by Hyoyeon, but I'm not sure if he told you yet."
The brunette dancer just stared at her blankly.
"Just say you'll go along?" Jessica said, exasperated. "Did you even know that it was today?"
"Eunhyuk," Donghae said flatly in reply.
The blonde girl shook her head, allowing curls to fall around her face. She hurriedly wrote down a place and room number on the paper, pushing toward Donghae's chest. "Alright, just come at six, or something near it? You can have a good laugh about it with Eunhyuk-ssi later on, got it? I know that you don't have any other classes for today."
Donghae picked up the paper and dutifully placed it in his pocket. "I'll see you there," he said easily. "Not so sure about Hyuk, though. He might be too hurt."
.
Eunhyuk was still standing, actually, by the time that Donghae got through with him. The other had simply given Donghae his signature gummy smile and they became chummy friends again, like they did ever since Donghae had thrown his baseball over on Eunhyuk's backyard.
Donghae wore some of his better clothes; a checkered shirt and matching shoes, a pair of jeans and his favourite beanie cap. Eunhyuk was dressed just as casual, with sneakers and a button-up shirt. He was obsessively checking his phone for something, the light glowing against his newly dyed brown hair. Donghae knew that Eunhyuk had a thing for his hair; he liked being spontaneous. Donghae blamed it on their friend Heechul.
He tapped Eunhyuk on the shoulder, pointing toward the shotgun of the car as he flopped into the driver's seat. "Yah, get off your phone for a second, won't you? Tell me the directions to the karaoke place."
"That's what I was looking for," Eunhyuk pouted, but complied. The doors clicked close softly, and the inside lit on briefly as Donghae turned on the engine. The car hummed slightly as it heated up. "I found the place, but it's going to take about ten minutes," Eunhyuk said. "Why are we going, anyway? It's too early for this."
"I'm going because Jessica said that it would be fun," Donghae replied absently. "Said that her unni was nearly begging for her to contribute people to the cause."
"Who, Taeyeon?" Eunhyuk blinked, turning toward Donghae. "Kim Taeyeon? The same Taeyeon that carries around a crowd the size of Seoul on her phone list?"
"Jessica adores her," the other replied, fixing the mirror in front. "And besides - isn't it a good thing that she's nothing like her brother?"
Eunhyuk thought about it for a second, but then he shuddered at the thought of Heechul and his own...er, interesting quirks. It didn't help that Heechul looked more like a female than half the female population did. Something that didn't bypass most people.
"Just drive," he pointed forward. "And we can pass off as fashionably late."
"Who wants to be fashionably late?" Donghae's nose screwed up slightly, but complied.
They made it in eight minutes, as Eunhyuk counted off on his phone. He was used to pressing random buttons on the touch-screen just to rid of his boredom. Donghae had thumped him many times on the head just to get his friend's attention back. Thank god Eunhyuk didn't love his phone as much as he loved dancing.
"We're here," Donghae said, pointing to the mentioned karaoke place. "Let's go in and make sure that we haven't made a complete fool of ourselves."
"Speak for yourself," Eunhyuk grinned.
The karaoke place was part of another whole chain by itself. The whole place was one whole bar and store. Donghae's eyes glanced at the drinks behind the counter more than once, but he reminded himself that he was on probation from alcohol right now and it wouldn't really be a good idea to get in trouble when he's just of age. Strobe lights flashed overhead, changing from prismatic colours every few seconds.
They spotted Taeyeon quickly, holding on to the arm of some redheaded guy's while she spoke in quick, sharp words. Donghae and Eunhyuk approached her, knowing that behind her would be their destination, before Eunhyuk sucked in a sharp breath and said, "Is that Heechul?"
Donghae blinked and gaped, not willing to believe that girly-looking, pink-loving Kim Heechul would be the bright-redheaded, long-haired, dressed-like-a-punk guy in front of him. Well, it wasn't really punk, but the colours were just red and black, whereas Heechul preferred lighter colours. They knew this from many, many sessions of conversation with him just talking.
But it was. Heechul turned around to frown and ignore his sister, who scowled. She wouldn't have any other day - Taeyeon was quite the crowd pleaser - but then Heechul's eyes found Donghae and Eunhyuk staring at them with mild surprise. He grinned. "Donghae-ah! Eunhyuk! Good to see you came."
Taeyeon's head spun around at the mention of their names. She addressed them calmly, her eyes taking in their appearance. Usually Taeyeon would smile charmingly at any guy that came her way, but not with the ones that she knew - and knew of her personality. "Hey," she finally said, sighing. "Can you believe oppa's hair? He looks weird with it."
"It was the hairstylist's fault," Heechul defended. "And besides, I think it looks fine. Hankyung, Sungmin, and Hong Ki thought it looked good enough."
"Hong Ki is in a rock band, of course he likes it," Taeyeon snapped. "Hankyung oppa doesn't care what you do, and - god, I have no idea what Sungmin was thinking when he said that you looked nice with your new cut."
"Sungmin is a secret rock lover at heart," Heechul said smugly. He rounded on the two boys still waiting for entrance, amused. "What do you guys think?"
Eunhyuk stared blankly, and Donghae fought to keep in snickers. "I like the colour," Donghae finally said, grinning as he flicked hair out of his eyes. Heechul looked vaguely smug before Donghae finished with a, "But the length makes you look like a girl." The elder's expression quickly turned into one of stormy displeasure.
"Can we go in?" Eunhyuk shook his head, pointing to the door that they had blocked. Taeyeon laughed and moved away, smirking at her brother at the same time. "Sure. This isn't my party anyway."
"I thought you asked Jessica to bring people?" Donghae asked, fixing her with a look.
"I did, mostly because the place would be boring if I didn't get my girls to bring people. Jessica asked you to come and a few others, right?" At Donghae's nod, Taeyeon continued, happy to show off how much she knew about the people inside. "Well, Hyoyeon invited Eunhyuk-ssi and Changmin-ssi. Seohyun invited her friend Jongwoon, who invited his friend Ryeowook, who invited Sungmin, who brought someone else with him. Changmin invited Amber and Krystal, I think. Jessica got pretty mad that no one told her her younger sister was coming."
Heechul snorted as Donghae and Eunhyuk shared raised eyebrows. "If only her memory was that good when it came to studies," he said balefully, glaring at Taeyeon with an "Ow!" when she slapped him on the shoulder. Donghae and Eunhyuk laughed, entering the place.
Though Donghae didn't recognize most of the names they had shot at each other - most he knew was Ryeowook, Hyoyeon, Seohyun, and Changmin - he had to admit that it was a huge connected circle. Was it even possibly to know all of these people? There seemed to be about fifty in the crammed karaoke stage room. Though there was no strobe lights like the dark, the room was tinted slightly blue and there were people laughing and mingling loudly.
"Oi, Eunhyuk-ah!" a cheerful and airy voice called. Both best friends turned to see the familiar face of Junsu smiling at them. He slung an arm around Donghae's and Eunhyuk's neck, causing the latter to give a gummy smile. "Donghae-hyung. I didn't know you guys were coming."
"I don't think half of the people here knew who was coming," Donghae said placatingly as Eunhyuk let out a sharp, "Yah, how come you call him hyung?"
"Because he deserves to be called hyung," Junsu retorted back. He addressed toward Donghae, much more nicely, "True. You should have seen how many people I've found here. I think most of the Guk Dong University population is here."
Donghae looked around the place as Eunhyuk rolled his eyes, starting a conversation with Junsu. Donghae spotted a few people he knew - Ryeowook, talking to a spiky-haired person with a cross glinting on his left lobe. A guy who looked really cute (as in, so girly cute that it kind of freaked Donghae out) and another next to them whose head was laid flat on the table. He saw Changmin with a hyung of his that Donghae recognized as Yunho, one of the most popular guys in Guk Dong. He also saw Jessica and Seohyun talking animatedly, Sunny joining in with them a moment later.
Eventually Junsu left when he spotted his brother Junho, and left Eunhyuk tapping on Donghae's shoulder. "You wanna sit somewhere?" he asked, looking around all the same.
"Let's go sit with Jessica," Donghae offered, motioning in their random direction. "Hyoyeon's there too." Eunhyuk's eyes brightened slightly, and Donghae had to grin inwardly; everyone knew that Eunhyuk's not-so-secret crush on the female dancer controlled practically everything he did.
They wandered over to the girls' area casually, Jessica throwing a smile Donghae's way. "Hey oppa, Eunhyuk-ssi," she greeted them.
"Sica," Donghae said fondly, ruffling her hair slightly. She gave them a baby glare but he still sat down next to her anyway, Eunhyuk following afterward next to him. He missed the way that the other two girls shared a smile at Donghae's and Jessica's encounter.
"What're you guys talking about?" he asked, tucking his chair in and leaning back on it.
Seohyun smiled. "Singing," she admitted. "We're going to go up there anyway, why not choose a song beforehand?"
Donghae laughed. "What are you going to be singing then?"
"I'm not really sure," Seohyun said quietly. "I was thinking maybe Midnight Love but the only version they have is of the duet..."
"Why don't you ask Jongwoon or Ryeowook?" Jessica motioned to the two men sitting on the next table over, with the other two that Donghae didn't recognize. They seemed to be absorbed in their conversation, and the dark-haired one who had his head on the table before was now sitting straight. His back was still toward Donghae, so he couldn't have a good look of him though.
Seohyun's eyes lit up, however, and she craned her neck in surprise. "Oh, is that Kyuhyun-ssi?" she said, mainly to herself, moving toward Sunny to see the dark-haired boy. Donghae didn't bother turning around this time, but when Jessica said, "Yeah, I think so. He's sitting next to Sungmin-oppa, isn't he?"
"Let's invite them over and introduce them properly," Sunny said happily, clapping her hands. "Neh, what do you guys think?"
The girls nodded their agreement, and Eunhyuk just shrugged. "The more people the better, right?" he said, smiling easily. Donghae just laughed gently. "Sure, go ahead. I'll move over for more room." He shuffled his chair over as Eunhyuk started to do the same.
Seohyun beamed. Then she called over to the next table, "Kyuhyun-ssi! Cho Kyuhyun-ssi!" Donghae looked up just as the boy that had been hiding his face from before - Kyuhyun, apparently - turned around in surprise. He could hear the girly-looking one saying, "I knew you had friends somewhere Kyuhyunnie!"
At this, Kyuhyun turned around and prompty smacked the other one on the back of the head, causing the table to flood with chuckles. All attention was on their table now, though, including Ryeowook and those whom Donghae deduced as Jongwoon and Sungmin. Kyuhyun turned around again and Donghae got a glimpse of dark doe eyes before the dim lights covered them again.
"Seohyun-ssi?" an unsteady, deep bass came. "Is that you?"
"Yeah," Seohyun said, happy that she was recognized. "Do you and the rest want to join our table? Maybe have a drink or something...?"
Kyuhyun was vaguely surprised, Donghae concluded from his next sentence. "Join...? But what about - "
He was abruptly cut off by the girly-looking one, who stood up and grabbed Kyuhyun's arm, dragging him up in the process as well. "We'd be delighted," he said, grinning. "This one is just antisocial, and it took him a great amount of blackmailing just to get him here. Yah, Ryeowook-ah, Jongwoon-ssi, what are you doing, come on!"
The other two got up as well, bringing their chairs over to the empty space left for them on the table. Sunny moved over toward Seohyun, giving Jessica space to move over. The girly-looking one sat next to the blonde girl, his friend Kyuhyun sitting next to him, Jongwoon sitting next to Kyuhyun, and Ryeowook sitting in between Jongwoon and Eunhyuk.
"Introduction time!" Jessica piped cheerfully. "Say your name and age. Me first! Jung Jessica, 18. Hello~!" she sang the last part, smiling cutely. The guy next to her laughed.
"Lee Soon Kyu," said the next girl with the bright cheeks. "But everyone calls me Sunny. I'm 18 too."
"Seo Joo Hyun," the next girl said politely, he voice soft. She bowed as much as one possibly could while sitting at a table. "Everyone calls me Seohyun, however. I am also 18."
Donghae smiled unsteadily as it was his turn. "Lee Donghae, like the east sea. 19 this year. Nice to meet you." He gave them a small respectful nod.
"Lee Hyukjae," Eunhyuk said. "Like everyone else, my nickname is Eunhyuk, so you could just call me that instead. I'm also 19." He gave them a gummy smile.
The next man smiled thinly. "Kim Jongwoon," he said, and Donghae thought that his voice was almost as deep as Kyuhyun's. "But some people call me Yesung. I'm 20."
"Kim Ryeowook," the redhead said, smiling. "I'm pretty sure all of you know me here." There was a faint bubble of laughter.
"Lee Sungmin," the girly-looking one said cheerfully. Donghae could finally place name to face - mentions of Sungmin seemed to be everywhere! Though he looked cute, Donghae could see that there was something evil about his smile.
"Cho Kyuhyun," the last one - the ever talked about - said, a little bit miserably. He slumped down in his chair. "17."
"He's the maknae of the this table," Sungmin said, snickering. Kyuhyun glared at him.
As chatter began to pick up, Donghae took the time to examine the new introductions. Jongwoon - or Yesung, as he insisted they call him - was slightly short and lightly tanned, with sloping eyes and a slightly flat nose. He was good-looking, Donghae supposed, even if some of the topics he talked about were weird.
Then there was Ryeowook, whom he knew from the beginner dance classes he taught. The boy was more of a singer himself, but it didn't mean that he didn't enjoy dancing as well, as Donghae was reminded every class. He was soft-featured and had a chirping quality about him. Sungmin, however, resembled a girl when he smiled a certain way, and he seemed to get along great with Sunny; they had begin to talk over the table.
Kyuhyun remained quiet, somehow after staring boredly at the ceiling decided to fall asleep. He had those big, doe eyes, and high cheekbones. Eunhyuk caught his attention after a while though as they began to talk to Ryeowook and Yesung about dancing, where they figured out that the eldest was also a fan of singing.
"We could do a trio," Ryeowook mused. "We have me, the tenor, Yesung-hyung, the baritone, and Kyuhyun-ssi, the bass. It'd be good harmony, right?"
"Kyuhyun sings?" Eunhyuk said, surprised.
Ryeowook laughed. "He may be bored here," he started, "But he really does love singing. I think that's his major anyway - modern music?" Yesung nodded.
"He goes to a unviersity?" Donghae cut in. "I thought that he was still in high school..."
"Kyuhyun-ah got in early," Yesung told them, mildly stirring their interest with the way he spoke about Kyuhyun so informally. "Skipped a grade, if I'm correct. He's a mastermind in math, isn't he?"
"And gaming," Ryeowook added.
Donghae nodded with the information, as one usually did. He spied another glance at Kyuhyun, who was staring at his friend Sungmin with apathetic - and if Donghae guessed correctly - irate eyes. He thought that they were way too old for a seventeen-year-old's eyes, even for a modern-music-slash-math-and-gaming-genius.
Kyuhyun seemed to notice that someone was looking at him, and Donghae watched as the younger turned around and regarded with with a flat stare and lazy posture. "Can I help you?" he asked, voice bland. Usually, Donghae would've smacked someone younger than him for talking to him like that - he was older, for god's sake, show respect! - but he sensed that Kyuhyun really didn't care, and really didn't bother to listen to their introductions earlier.
So instead, Donghae focused on mustering up a good-enough reply. He ignored the starting chatter of Yesung's and Ryeowook, addressing Kyuhyun with a slight tilt of his head. "You have old eyes."
Kyuhyun blinked, eyebrows raising in surprise. Whatever he was expecting, it surely wasn't that. "Excuse me?"
"Old eyes," Donghae repeated, a grin stretching across his face. "You know, like your older than your age. You know too much, act too mature. I can see it."
Kyuhyun frowned. "I'm naturally mature," he argued, crossing his arms now. Donghae decided that he looked like a sort of kicked puppy - injured pride. He didn't know whether Kyuhyun was insulted or flattered, and apparently, the other didn't know either.
"Sure," Donghae said to calm him. "But if you were, you weren't be here at a lame party like this."
The junior's frown became even deeper. "Then why are you here?"
"I never said I was mature, did I?" Donghae shrugged. "Besides, what's the point in life if you're not going to have a little fun?"
"Ah, Yesung-hyung," Ryeowook called loudly, bringing everyone's attention to them, "I think you should go and help Taeyeon-ssi. She's trying to start the karaoke, I think."
Yesung stared at the wide-eyed girl on the stage who was glaring at her redheaded brother down below. Making a quick decision, he stood up fluidly. "No one's going to listen if she's quarelling with Heechul all the time," Yesung agreed somberly, walking over to them. There was a quick silence at the table as Yesung took the mic from Taeyeon gently, pushing her down off the stage with a reassuring look. She blinked, but then shrugged and spun on Heechul, whose face had gone pale.
"Hello? Everyone?" His voice boomed through the speakers, and Donghae had to admit that Yesung had a nice voice; a baritone, like he belonged in lead of a harmony. "Quiet down guys, we're starting the singing and then you can go back to your screaming." He grinned, and there was a sort patter of laughter and agreement. "Alright, who wants to go first?"
"Ooh!" A pretty, blonde-haired girl from across the room stood up, wobbling in her heels slightly at the sudden movement. "I do! I do!" The crowd clapped for her, and Donghae noticed that everyone was either sitting down or standing with plastic blue cups in their hands, watching the stage. It seemed as though only music-lovers were here.
The blonde took the mic from Yesung happily, talking over the front in a naturally husky voice. "My name is Hyosung, and I want to sing I Have A Lover. Do you have that?" she asked the person at the DJ booth, who Donghae could make out barely. The person nodded.
As the girl starting on the first few bars of the naturally touching song, he noticed that most of his table was quiet. Yesung, who had made his way back, was carefully observing Hyosung, along with Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, Sungmin, and Seohyun. Sunny and Jessica seemed to be drawn into their little conversation on the other side of the table, murmuring in low voices. He looked beside him to see if Eunhyuk was there, but he wasn't; a quick scan of place made him realize that he Eunhyuk had, at one point, left him for the pretty-eyed girl name Hyoyeon over on the other side.
Donghae caught his eye and attempted to give him a dirty look, but when Hyoyeon had her attention diverted Eunhyuk pointed to his phone and then turned back to Hyoyeon with a smile.
Donghae rolled his eyes and took out his phone, reading the text over with a sense of, 'god-I-really-should've-expected-this'.
Thanks for the company, Donghae-ah~ Wish me luck with Hyoyeon-ssi^^ Hopefully, she'll say yes?
The brunette sighed slightly. When would his best friend understand that Hyoyeon just enjoyed Eunhyuk around for the game?
"Her pitch was slightly off," someone said suddenly at his table. Donghae looked up, flipping his phone shut. "I think she was nervous."
"Shaky voice," Kyuhyun agreed, turning himself so that he was sitting properly now. He looked at Sungmin. "She's part of the soprano group that you're in, right?"
"She's a very good singer," Sungmin just answered in response. "And she did well. We haven't exactly performed on grand stages in New York, you know."
Kyuhyun made a noise of - what, agreement? Displeasure? Donghae couldn't tell. He noticed that Seohyun, Yesung, and Ryeowook were engulfed in the conversation as well. The mic was temporarily taken by someone else while they spoke over Hyosung.
"Maybe she could've worked on another song?" Ryeowook said politely, a little hesitant. "I was worried. She was singing all the high notes, and she might strain herself if she didn't pitch properly."
"Hm," Yesung said, drinking out of his cup.
"Why are you assessing her turn, anyway?" Donghae piped up, very curious. He felt five pairs of eyes turn his way, but he wasn't embarrassed in the least. You needed to have more than just that to see you dance on stage, after all. "It's not like she's signing up for Korea's Got Talent or something."
They all shared a look that made Donghae feel like he was missing something. Jessica and Sunny had left the table, but none of the other occupants had notice. Finally, Seohyun addressed Donghae nicely with, "Donghae-ssi, singers always look out for other singers. It may seem like we're being judgemental, but every singer appreciates criticism, even if it wasn't called for in the first place."
Sungmin smiled brightly. "It'll help in the future too! Make you a better performer."
Donghae shrugged. He was unaware of such rules and things, preferring his life as a dancer easier. Move your body, breathe, and remember the steps. Keep your eyes on the crowd, but don't let them know that you're there. "If you say so," he said easily, leaning back.
Seohyun frowned. "Where's Eunhyuk-ssi? I just noticed that he went missing."
"Over there," Donghae snorted, hitching his thumb over his shoulder to said best friend attempting to talk to Hyoyeon. To their surprise, it seemed as though she was actually making genuine conversation back.
"Well that's nice," Seohyun said, eyes sparkling. "I better get going. I promised Taeyeon-unni that I would sing her a song." Seohyun stood up, smoothing out her skirt. She nodded her head in respect to the others around the table, speaking to them all carefully one by one: "Yesung-ssi, Ryeowook-ssi, Sungmin-ssi, Kyuhyun-ssi, Donghae-ssi." One nod for every person. Then she left.
"Awfully polite," Sungmin said, not unfriendily. He nudged Kyuhyun, raising an eyebrow. "She seems to like you."
Kyuhyun glared at him. Donghae held in a snicker. He looked like someone who'd be fun to tease.
"Hyungs," Ryeowook started softly, motioning to both Sungmin and Yesung, "You guys promised to sing with me on stage."
Sungmin laughed. "Only if Kyuhyun joins me," he said, patting Kyuhyun.
The darker-haired guy rolled his eyes. "No thanks," he replied dryly. Donghae looked back and forth between them, confused.
"I thought you liked singing?"
"Not when it's with this idiot," Kyuhyun replied, not missing a beat. He nodded his head at Sungmin, who pouted. "I'm wounded Kyu, I really am."
"Shut up."
Ryeowook smiled tentatively. "Are you coming or not, hyung?"
"I'll go," Sungmin stood up from his chair, stretching. "We'll just have to hear Kyu's wonderful voice another day because he's too busy PMS-ing today." He moved away so that he wouldn't be hit with Kyuhyun's sudden lunge to his side, eyes flaring. Sungmin snickered. "Come on, dongsaeng and Yesung-hyung! Better go before Kyu kills me~!" he sang, even though it probably wasn't the right tone.
"You brought it on for yourself," Kyuhyun snarled. Donghae couldn't help but grin. Their interaction reminded him of his and Eunhyuk's.
"Oh, and Donghae-ssi!" Sungmin called from across the room, catching both Donghae's and Kyuhyun's attention, "Take good care of Kyu while I'm up, okay? I don't want him to be lonely, or else he starts to sulk."
"Shut up!" Kyuhyun's cheeks flared. Donghae just laughed again. But then he realized his problem as Sungmin started to prepare for his turn; he was all alone with grumpy-Kyuhyun, who he wasn't sure if he was fond of, or even the other way around. Before he knew it, an awkward silence was starting to cover them like a blanket, and he didn't know how to get rid of it.
...I don't know what happened here, really.
REALLY.
ksfhjakhuiefhdkjslfhakljhfak I hate beginnings of long stories. But I love writing them at the same time too. ;-; Unbeta-ed, so feel free to point out mistakes.
