Things are static here. I do have a job in September teaching voice/piano/saxophone which is awesome! $18 an hour! Whoo! Money for the pilgrimage!
I do have very exciting news, though. My church here in St. John's, Gower Street United (which, ironically, is on Queen's Road) has, after two years of thought, prayer, arguements and meetings, decided that marrying same-sex couples is the just, holy and blessed thing to do. We, as a congregation, will now usher in a new era of equality and justice for those marginalised because of his/her sexuality. I am especially happy for this result as I was one of the persons who was at the beginning stages of this process and saw it most of the way through. What a leap forward for the United Church and indeed Christianity.
