So we're about to sign a contract to have them build us a house in Arizona. This means that basically all of our money will now be going into this house, so no more fun trips :( This is the SO's dream house though, so I figure that's the least I can do for taking her away from her family, and she's always wanted her own brand new house. Me? I'd rather be traveling and seeing the world... But maybesomeday...
So the most annoying part of having a house built for you, is that you have to pick out all of the options in it. She's really into it, I could care less as long as the basics are there. There are 5 types of interior doors to choose from (design-wise). In my mind, they all look alike, and all that really matters is that they close when I want to take a crap! In her mind, they're all completely different and we should agonize over each style for an hour.
Every weekend has been busy for us, whether it's been getting ready for the move or a concert last weekend, or a musical this weekend or Mother's day two weekends ago. I haven't used any vacation time this year, but might around Memorial weekend. We're not going to Palm Springs like we normally do, because we figured we're moving to the desert, why take a vacation there? I would like to go somewhere though, but she doesn't have the vacationtime since her boss cut it down from 3 weeks to 5 days (which I still don't see how that's going to benefit the company).
Oh, and in the "things we never had to worry about in Cali" category, comes this lovely little message from our future building supervisor at work.
"It's that time of year when rattlesnakes are active. Several snakes have been found in the north end of Bldg ___ in recent weeks including one Tuesday afternoon in the ____. Please remind your employees to be extra cautious when picking up parts, boxes and other items off of the floor. Several snakes have been found coiled in computer cables and power cords under desks which make them difficult to initially notice. Always be aware of the placement of your hands...don't put them close to the ground without looking carefully first."
So, the snakes aren't even outside, THEY'RE INSIDE THE BUILDING UNDER DESKS?!!
I had my friends at work take a stress test, and it was amazing how high we've all scored lately!
Tonight we're going to see 9 to 5, the musical, with Diana DeGarmo in it, which should be interesting. I wasn't too impressed with seeing Constantine in Rock of Ages, but then I was never a fan of his on American Idol. Speaking of which, I'm bummed that James is gone. Yes, his screeching and weird eyebrows bothered me, but he did put on a show and he was into it 110%! Haley's okay, but her time to go was a long time ago. And I could see her making it into the final now, because Scotty and Lauren's fans are going to be the same, so they'll split the vote.
That's about it for this week...
