So, yesterday my son fell and twisted his leg. Bad enough not to step on it. We went to ER with him and doctor said his ankle was good but the side of his leg was clearly in pain.Usually kids his age has resilient bones, and it didn't seem broken or anything yesterday, so the doc said to keep eye on it and if he still doesn't use the leg, come to xrays on Monday. Tuomas limped badly and could hardly take three steps while with doc. Even now, when ever I tried to make him walk, he starts crying and refuses to even put weight on his right foot. So I took day off from work tomorrow and take him to xrays at morning. Hopefully there's nothing, but I wish we'd get something that allows us to get him to walk. Today he was crawling with hands and knees and it didn't seem to bother the leg much.
To other things...
I felt really productive this weekend. I managed to finish my armband project that has been on my to do list for two years. Well, ever since we had Mother's bachelorette party. I finally got fed up with it just being there reminding me of my procrastinating habits and decided to finish it. And I did it! It's done and ready for use. Here's the pic
As you can see it's rather wide and has two colors, silver and light blue. I rather like how it turned out.
I also organized my storage in Tuomas' room. All my sewing stuff is in there and I went through with it and organized it little more efficiently. And I put some tiny clothes away and so on... There's no more room than there was before, but hey, at least I can find my stuff in there better now. And need not to worry to get anything falling on me when I open the door.
we've been outing this weekend too. Yesterday at the local small market to meet friends. And today we walked to see horses (Tuomas was on buggy) and stopped by our neighbors too.
Oh, and I promised to pictures of my bakings didn't I? Those chocolate cupcakes I made few weeks back.
There you go. First one is when they were fresh from oven and straight frosted. Second is right before I served them to Tuomas's godfather and his girlfriend. And third is just close up of one of the cupcakes. I thought it looked so darn delicious.
Anyway... Recipe if from
here, though I made few of my variations again. Like instead of skillet I used cupcake forms. And
reduced time for baking with 5-10 minutes (We DO have oven with circulating air, so you might want to check your cupcakes with a toothpick, just in case) And when served, I used only whipped cream, instead of caramel sauce and ice cream.... They were sweet enough without and whipped cream kinda balanced it somewhat.
What else? I cut some patterns for those sewing projects I've been talking about. And I should get that spirometry scheduled so I can start with the PEF again... Oh, and I made some freaking good oyako domburi. I made some for lunch for tomorrow too.. until I realized that I'll stay home tomorrow... Oh well...
Oh! And I definitely need to show you my Mother's day gifts
Tuomas made the card, Darling picked up flowers and bought the books. I love my men.
Oh, and I forgot to mention... I finally made Tuomas pajama pants. I think they turned out ok.
Overall, I'm rather happy about this week. And feeling better than in weeks actually. Mentally that is. (Stupid allergy). And for once I can't wait for the next week. Mostly because I made some decisions and I want to start working on them. And I feel like I can enjoy my work again
