Timing

Well it's been a few months. Usually I just don't have time for this or simply don't have too much exciting news to report. But this week has been a surprisingly leisurely week in school. I mean I didn't even get around to this during Spring Break but I am now. That's fantastic. It's one of those weeks where I wish I had a good book to snuggle up with at night and in my spare time, like now, sitting at desk twiddling my thumbs idly. But I know that if I get a book when I go home this weekend that I simply won't have time to read it probably until the summer anyway. Maybe I'll bring back some Soduko problems... that's what kept me highly entertained and slightly frustrated over spring break. lol. Although next week I have two exams and probably more work so maybe not. Even this week I have a debate that I'm presenting today and a presentation on Friday and staff meeting, scheduling and registering, and a desk meeting. And that's low key. My point is that this semester has been CRAZY. I have been more busy and more stressed this semester and I am only taking four classes. Last semester I was in five and had slightly more free time. Weird. I guess the higher level classes plus all my education ones account for the difference.
There's some new stuff to write about I guess.
I have a new cousin... the Murphy family is still expanding. Kennedy Murphy was born on February 28, 2007 at 12:17. I got to see her in the hospital. She was adorable. Thank goodness it isnt' a leap year ;) I realized she was born on my half birthday, a day so busy I forgot that it was slightly important to my life too.
The next day, March 1, I found out I was going to be ARA of Larned next year. I'm changing buildings, AGAIN, I'm a building whore. I'm alittle nervous about that and only one person from my Towers staff is making the change with me so that's slightly nervewracking but I'm excited. It essentially entails me taking on A LOT more responsibility. Sometimes I wonder why I do these things to myself but I guess I should just stop asking myself that and embrace the simple fact that I do and probably always will. I have some new RAs joining that staff and some returners. I'm excited although it means my summer ends on August 14. Boo to that. However, no one will really be around this summer I do suppose.
I'm still looking for a summer job and I'm starting to hate this routine. I'm hoping to go back to Little People's, which is short-staffed one teacher anyway and I AM NOW TEACHER QUALIFIED :) but they can't give me an answer right away :( so I have to start looking into other daycares too. Ohhh this summer process. Wish me luck.
Steve got a new job. Yesterday. That he applied for on Monday. lol. He'll be working in Holliston, closer to me and won't be working Saturdays anymore (although he will still be doing some random side jobs with George. Speaking of George, him and his wife Courtney had their second child on March 10, ahhh lots and lots of babies and we went to he Cody in the hospital too!) He'll be getting a pay raise and it's a bigger company so hopefully they'll be more stability and such.
We are going on vacation together for our "one year". Really I just want this summer to entail something exciting and we have not gone away together so this will be good for us. We're heading up to Maine on July fourth, and we're gonna watch fireworks up there.. although we will miss going to the Bellingham fireworks, our little tradition that has always gone well for us :) We're going white water rafting all day Friday and heading home on Sunday. Five days doing whatever, relaxing, going to the beach, climbing mountains, and hopefully finding a pool for me to swim in. We're both wicked excited. And the company already knows that he won't be working... although now he has no vacation days but oh well.
I've been doing my field study observations one day a week every Tuesday this semester. My class is in general FANTASTIC. (Yesterday they had a bit of an off day and I was kinda excited to leave but that's been the first time so that's okay). I only have eleven kids in my class, who are all adorable and pretty smart. My cooperating teacher is amazing. I have never seen a classroom more highly decorated or with so many books for the children to read there or to take home in a library set up kind of system. The kids say the cutest things too. One told me I should be a model and then she suggested maybe a firelady. Lol.
April's gonna be a weird month. I stay here a lot, especially second semester because there are less birthdays and holidays to head home for. But this month is crazy. I can't wait to go home for Easter. I haven't seen Marissa since March 3, and then we were both only home for the MTELS (so nervous to get my scores this Friday). She went to Jamica for spring break so we missed her then. I haven't been home since my spring break but then after Easter I'm going home for half of the long weekend after my Saturday night holiday duty, boo. I have a doctors appointment for my beauty marks that need to be looked at and hopefully me and Heather will get to see each other cuz we didn't end up getting to over spring break. The weekend after that I'm practically single-handedly running a school carnival that better go over well but of course that weekend is Steve's mom surprise 40th birthday party. No matter what I end up doing that day I'm undoubtedly going to miss the "SURPRISE" part but oh well cuz I asked Steve when it might be trying to plan around it and he coulnd't give me an answer. So I'll be heading home for a few hours that week too.
Alright I guess that's about all even though I am still bored. My life's pretty good for now and that's something to be excited about. Less to write about but oh well cuz I write too much in the first place. Amanda will say so :) And Alicia if you still read these, those indentations at the start of each paragraph are for you.
