YAY!!! For everyone that doesn't know yet cuz I told a lot of people....
I'm an RA! oh yay!!! sorry it rhymed. hehe. I'm excited. My first choice was O'Connor where I am now but I got it in Towers which I'm fine with too. a bigger community which may be weird at first, and boys!!! jigga what?? I like don't see any of those here so that will be new. and I get my own bathroom. fantastic! I'm hoping that my room, which supposedly are the second biggest ones on campus (oco has the biggest ones) will fit a fouton.. if that's how you spell it cuz that'd be nice and cozy and fun and people could actually come up and visit! a novel idea. and plus you could pee without leaving my room. hehe. I highly suggest coming to see me.
there are still a few issues to work out with the parents like how much of my money will actually go to me which is silly cuz if I had a normal job they wouldn't take any. however they see it as some schools give free room and board (ours does not) so they should benefit from this as if I went to one of these schools with free room and board. I get helping out and I'm sure it will be fine in the long run but we'll have to do some negotiating here. there is also the issue of a car because I get free parking with the job and would like to be able to use it to make fun creative projects more easily and also to have it just to go home for a few hours as to not use one of my four nights a month off campus. A nice trip home once in awhile would just be easier if I had my own car here. and we will have an extra one idling in the driveway anyway...
the one downside is that I have to be up here by August 16th for two weeks of training and no guests are allowed (or atleast in the building.. I suppose we could go out and about...) but I heard its pretty intense 8-8 or 8-11 training with an 11 oclock curfew. I will miss out on all the end of the summer going back to school events which is sad but I know Lindsay heads up early and brit might too (congrats to you dearest!) and some people like brit left early last year anyway so we can plan around this I hope!!! also these two weeks take away from two weeks of working, wherever that may be but oh well. what makes me most sad is I miss my birthday with friends and family which falls on a think a monday this year. hopefully my family can come up and celebrate with me that sunday or something cuz I assume there isn't training on the weekend.... but who knows.
despite all that I'm so super excited. I get to be nice and involved like i was in high school, I get to take on more responsiblity that I usually thrive on, I get to make new friends with tower RA specifically and the rest of the staff and I have a hallway full of people to initiate into the school! and become good friends with too. hehe. yay. I hope my hallway is all girls which I think it will and the other wing will be all guys.. that's my understanding of it....so many things to figure out and look forward to. it feels nice to be picked for something you tried out for, unlike cheering or class secretary. I get to come up with cute little name tags for doorways for everyone. oh boy!!!! this is great! and I'll have a free microfridge, woah practically like my own house a kitchen(esque), bathroom, and bedroom and with the fouton mini family room all in one!!! haha
thanks for all your inquires and encouragement and yah I'm excited. woot woot.
