Hello.
Okay, so, it's been a little while and here's why:
1) My old computer pretty much died on me. Remember the big trauma of sending my laptop into Best Buy about 2 years ago? Yeah, same thing, and the cost of fixing it not under service plan made me wait a bit until I could just afford a new one.
2) Lots of work, lately. Inventories, store resets, visits from people higher up on the foodchain than either me or my boss. Looks to be continuing through the end of March. Then, I'm going to try to sneak home - we'll have to see.
3) Got hit by a virus a few weeks ago, laid me out for like 40 hours straight. It crept up in 2 hours, put me in bed for 40, and kept me weak and unhappy for another 3 days. :P
On the music front:
1) I did not get Radiohead tickets. They were sold out too quickly. I am sad and do not want to dwell on this. :/ (Also, stu47, did you not once give me a link - or vice versa - to a blog where they compiled live shows? I've lost the bookmark as it's on my old computer...)
2) The new Gutter Twins' cd is out, Dulli peeps. You know, Saturnalia, the Dulli/Lanegan collaboration. And it is filled with shiny wonder and joy. You Dulli peeps, if you haven't already bought it, do so, now! You will not regret.
3) PORTISHEAD has a new album coming out in late April. PORTISHEAD! HOORAH!
On the movie front:
1) This may well be the first year in a long time where I think the Academy chose the actual best picture of the year for "Best Picture of the Year" with the selection of No Country For Old Men (okay, of the group, I have not seen TWBB, but even with DDL, I'm not sure it'll surpass NCFOM). Go Coen Bros!
2) Have you people watched Gone Baby Gone? Awesome movie (well, really good movie with an excellent ending). Ben Affleck directed and damn, I didn't think he had it in him. Also, between this and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Casey Affleck is pretty much steamrolling his way onto my list of favorite actors.
3) This summer is going to be a really, really fun time at the movies. The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Indiana Jones, X-Files 2, Get Smart (okay, nostalgia, yeah, but I'm hoping this is going to be stupid fun) and a few random others... Oh, and speaking of TDK, tell me that Nolan's plan for visualizing Harvey/Two-Face doesn't sound super-intriguing?
I am feeling:
1) Angsty, because I no longer have Photoshop (the discs belong to my bro). I've been trying to learn GIMP, and it's coming along, but not quickly enough. Also, my new laptop monitor makes me question the quality of stuff I'm doing because it makes everything look slightly gritty. Hmmm.
2) Happy, because I had dinner with angellabout2sin the other night, and today we are going to watch Enchanted!
3) An itch to buy a new cellphone. I don't need it. I don't need it. I DON'T NEED IT! But, being able to hit the internet whenever I wanted would be kind of awesome... Even with the government's upcoming "band-aid on an already dead person" economic stimulus package, I should be using that money more wisely...
4) Excited, because it's about 3 weeks until the opening of S4 of Battlestar Galactica.
Okay, off to do some laundry.
