ETA: I really should not even attempt to write summaries when I'm exhausted from having spent two solid days at the computer, writing and editing. Is slightly less ridiculous now, I think.

60 thousand words in three weeks? Wow. Would, you, um, like a pillow? So that you can sleep now?
Great first chapter. I love all the physical details-not that I have any familiarity with tropical rainforests, but your descriptions feel authentic, and very evocative. Plus, it's neat to see Ethan-as you know, I've just been playing with him myself, so it's fun to see him in a different role.
This was great:
“Perhaps you’re right. Perhaps we can’t scare you. But we would like to try, wouldn’t we, Ripper?”
“Yes,” Giles said. “I think we would.”

I'm not quite that fast though - it took me six weeks. The first 40,000 words happened in about three weeks though. And yes, a pillow would be most welcome.
I'm glad you liked the descriptions. They felt a bit gratuitous at times, but I like the way it turned out. And Ethan! My Ethan is quite a bit different from yours, but pretty much any way you go, he's fun to write.

I ask again, as I have many times: Why is there not more Giles/Willow out there?
Also, your icon is hot.

I was going to wait until I finished reading the entire story, but I may as well ask now. I run a Willow/Giles archive, Hairy Eyeball, and I would love to add this to the archive. As well as any other G/W stories you may have written. Like you pointed out, this is a dying pairing and I'm doing my best to preserve all of the great W/G stories.

A dying pairing, eh? Hmm, that is worrisome. Makes me want to run a winter_of_willow this year even more, actually.
