Summary: Giles confronts Kane for insulting Buffy.

It only took a second for Buffy to realize that she had made a mistake. Now, she found herself trapped in a net. She looked down and saw a man holding a shotgun.
"Gotcha!" The man told her.
"Giles! Giles!" Buffy yelled.
At the sound of his Slayer's voice, Rupert Giles rushed to Buffy's aid. Only to find himself staring at the business end of this stranger's shotgun.
"Whoa! Who are you?" Giles asked. The Watcher kept his hands high above his head and prayed that whoever this man was: that he didn''t have an itchy trigger finger.
"The name's Kane and since I'm the one with the gun, I get to do the interviewin'."
"Hey guys!" Buffy yelled. "Before you get all chummy, could you get me out of this net?" With a slight smirk; Kane took a penknife and cut down the net.
Buffy hit the ground with a slight thud. She quickly untangled herself from the net, brushed the dirt from her clothes and sighed.
When Kane got a good look at the Slayer, his eyes went wide with shock. "I gotta say I'm impressed."
"Excuse me?" Giles asked.
"Well, it's good to get the fruit, while it's fresh." Kane told the Watcher.
Buffy began to worry when she saw her Watcher's eyes flash with anger. "You'd be wise to take that back."
Kane gave Giles a toothy grin. "What if I don't, Mr. Librarian? Whatcha going to do about it? Hmm?"
Before Buffy could say or do anything, Kane was lying flat on his back, his nose and lips were bloody.
Giles had raised his hand up, ready to strike again, when Buffy said: "Giles don't! He's not worth going to jail for. Trust me."
Giles dropped his arm. "You're right, Buffy." He sighed, looked down at Kane's unconscious form and muttered: "Pillock!"
"What are we going to do with him?" Buffy asked, glancing down at Kane.
Giles shrugged, "Nothing. Let the police find him and deal with it. Come on, Buffy. Let's go find ourselves a werewolf."
"I guess he wasn't too smart, was he?" Buffy commented.
"Some people just aren't that smart, Buffy." Giles told her.
"Well, it's a good thing we are, huh?" Buffy said.
"Indeed," Giles agreed.
