Damn that was a ride indeed! I love how you wove the Buffy plot into this. I feel a tiny bit cheated that this didn't have a big splashy end but on the other hand, I've grown to love Giles and 'it' and their relationship too much to want to let go.
Thanks for coming along for it. And as far as the ending goes, not quite what I had in mind either. I blame EthanMuse for taking over - I had a plot in mind but my old friend stepped in and took over. Call it a compromise - I get my flashy end come the finale of part two. And... I'll leave it at you may wind up rethinking whether you do actually like 'it'.
Lol.
Either way, thanks for everything. See you next round.
“I know you have, child.” That's Ethan right there in that simple little sentence - power and condescension oozing out of every word.
Congratulations, I've really enjoyed this story. I must admit that because I'm a Xander girl at heart, I first started reading with the lure of Giles/Xander and Vamp Ethan/Xander to come. I know we haven't got there yet, but I'm very glad I stuck around anyway because this has been a delightful and different read. Now I'm definitely going to be looking out for part 2 to see what happens next!
Yeah I noticed that you were a Xander-player. Found a bunch of your recommendations through google, actually.
Anyway, while I've touched on writing Xander before (and indeed, have a couple of Xander/Ethan stories over at Twisting the Hellmouth) he's still a character that I'm getting comfortable with writing, and to do things the way that I want to do them, and to do the idea justice, then it's not something that I can, or want to rush. I have a lot of respect for him, and Xander-ese, much like Ethan-ese, is it's own art form, ( although of course I'm sure you know that, anyway) . :)
So, all necessary scene-setting.
And thanks heaps for sticking around, and I'm delighted that you got something out of this.
