I love stories that fill what we never saw during S7, especially with Giles, and the loss of his whole heritage. I particularly like how you suggest the vastness of the loss of watchers, and the call-back to Sam Zabuto.

This was the same timeframe I put my own offering in this year, cos, yeah, so much Giles we missed! This is poetic and haunting and thank you so much for that!

Nicely done. Especially the last bit with Giles hanging on by a thread. Really shows the power of the First's torments.

You know, I have very hard time to understand Giles in season 7 (which is why I tend to avoid watching it) but I think you just nailed why Giles was the way he was. All his past ghosts and fellow Watcher weighing heavy on his shoulders make his actions that much more understandable. Thank you for writing this, it felt like I got my Giles back.

That's a great missing scene from season 7. I can't believe we never saw the First taunting him on the show. Thank you for this correction.
