Sweeney Todd
Mediocre musical with all the usual Tim Burton visual trappings.
I have to say, I don't dislike Tim Burton, I just think he's turned himself into a predictable cliche which basically means he's not very interesting anymore.
The songs were mostly uninspiring & repetitive. It had a lot of actors I think are brilliant in it, but sadly none of them were given any real chance to shine. The plot lacked that certain something & just felt a bit stretched, like there wasn't quite enough story to go round.
Some pretty dresses though...I didn't hate it, I just didn't really care. Shame.
(I am most amused to think how many people will go to see it having only seen the short trailer, & be very surprised to find themselves watching a musical!)
