summary Jonghyun has a thing for cute things.
notes This was actually written a long, long time ago, but I never got the chance to post it. For Serena pixeltoy, because she subconsciously bullied me into writing something about this comic. (Originally posted here)

It was one of those nights spent wading through the busy streets of Seoul. He was alone today - Minho had gone out with Hyukjae and Donghae (or maybe even Junsu, if they ever got in touch with him) for a soccer game, Kibum had been dragged by Amber to Lord knows where for a 'chat' (they all know it's a date, though), and Taemin had locked himself up in one of the practice rooms to study (he can't concentrate at home, he said. The bed was way too inviting). Jinki, meanwhile, said he'd just lounge at home. Read a book or two while nursing a headache.

Jonghyun glanced at his watch. It was already around eight in the evening, and he had already been out for at least three hours. Assuming his calculations were correct, Jinki would probably be done reading that thick, self-help book by now and would be too lazy to grab something to eat.

He chuckled. It wasn't as if he had any intention to cook for Jinki, though.

He looked around for restaurants. The nearest one was around five blocks from where he was standing. He'd go there if he could, but then his feet were killing him. Best to just order when he gets home. He couldn't really trust Jinki's 'good judgement' when it came to food, anyway.

He was already near the parking area when he passed by a shop selling cute pendants and clips. He almost missed it, the cute clip with a bunny emblem, and he squinted hard, taking in all of its details.

It was perfect.

He turned on his heel quickly and went inside the shop. Going home could wait a bit longer.

---

It's a bit quiet at home, what with the apparent lack of people in it aside from Jinki. He shifted a little in his seat and ran his fingers through his hair. Maybe he should've taken Minho's advice and gone out with Jonghyun. That way, they could've passed by the salon and Jonghyun would have been able to help him pick a good haircut for him.

"Just not the super short one," he remembered Jonghyun saying. He smiled a little, then went back to reading the book, his hand still pressed to his forehead to keep his bangs from falling on his eyes.

He saw a figure from the corner of his eye, but figured it wasn't Jonghyun since Jonghyun would probably greet him loudly, complete with a grin stretching across his features and take out for dinner. What he didn't see coming was this - Jonghyun appearing in front of him all of a sudden, mischief in his eyes and a grin on his lips. No take out food, though, so Jinki cocked his head to the right and removed his right earphone.

"Jjong?"

Jinki just watched as Jonghyun giggled and placed something in his hair, Jonghyun's free hand pressed against the back of his neck for support. When Jonghyun had finished, Jinki glanced at whatever Jonghyun had just done and found a rather adorable clip tucking his bangs safely in place, and a satisfied smile on Jonghyun's lips.

"Um, Jjong, the clip-"

Before he could even finish, Jonghyun leaned in for a kiss. "It looks so cute on you," Jonghyun whispered in his ear soon after. "Now I demand compensation."

Jinki would argue and say, 'Let's eat first,' but then he's sure Jonghyun would come up with a clever retort that would go along the lines of, 'Isn't that exactly what we're doing right now?' He retaliated a little for effect, but he knew so well that Jonghyun felt him smiling against the kiss, his hands slowly making their way up Jonghyun's back.

Dinner could wait.
