(no subject)
this job definitely counts as the worst job i've ever had to be sick at. i started to feel that little tingle of a sore throat on friday and by the end of the night, i was spent. i knew i officially had a cold. i stocked up on zicam, zinc tablets, advil cold and sinus, riccola cherry honey cough drops and guzzled down some emergen c. i was in a mad rush to minimize the effects of this cold over the weekend and return to work on monday with a little bit of health to get me thru. i turned down the available overtime on the weekend too.
this morning i did feel better...and at least i don't have the awful sore throught but i'm certainly not 100%...in fact, probably not 50%.
and if it were sunny outside, i think i would've been ok...but working outside in the wet and cold and ice...just really really sucked today. i'm glad to be home. and even more glad to be able to shave nearly an hour off the time it takes to get home since i can drive now.
but otherwise, today was decent. the crew i was with worked really well together and so once again, i'm with a great crew and a great trainer. the best way to learn is thru repition so i think i'm really starting to get the hang of it.
the weekend was good too. the potluck on friday was a lot of fun and i got to catch up with a few friends i hadn't seen in awhile. my lemon meringue pie was a huge success.
ok...off for some quick dinner and in bed by 8:30 i'm sure!!
