endless ness #1: my beautiful floor.
:(
When it was installed oh so long ago (May?) the installer told the contractor that he needed to cover it with sheets of something I can't remember the name of to protect it while they were doing the rest of the work (and dropping hammers and whatnot in that cheerful way that workmen have).
Well, the contractor chose not to. And now (of course) the floor is damaged. There are gouges, dents scratches and outright holes - 22 boards have to be replaced. I've been told that when it's installed the floor becomes a single unit so even replacing the boards is going to weaken the structure but it's got to be done. And adding insult to injury is the news that the flooring company says the damage isn't covered by warranty because it's misuse (as of course it is) and someone has to pay for the material before they'll replace it. They've told me that since their arrangement was w/ me and not the contractor *I* have to pay for the material and then get the contractor to reimburse me. bloody hell. We're talking fifteen hundred bucks here.
this is an endless hell I'm trapped in.
endless ness #2: endlesses aka endlers
Endless or Endlers are very, very cool little fishies found (get this) only in ONE lake in Venezuela.
They're brightly coloured and fairly rare. I called around to all of the shops but no luck so I went interweb diving and I found a breeder in Pickering who has them for sale. Yay!! I'll be going to pick a bunch up on Saturday!!
