then, on wednesday, i saw this...
Accident claims teen’s life

Police have cited drag-racing, extreme speed and alcohol as the most likely causes of a fatal two-car accident early Wednesday morning on Bridle Road Billerica Police Lt. Commander Jack Glavin said.

Charles Ware, 17, of 36 Hilltop Road, was pronounced dead at the scene at 76 Bridle Road after authorities found him thrown from his late model Ford Explorer, Glavin said.

The other driver, whom Glavin said is also in his teens, was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
“There is a possibility charges could be filed against this other individual,” Glavin said, adding that the accident is still under investigation.

Glavin said it was not immediately clear how long Ware has lived in the area or if he attends school in town.

Sometime before 5:37 a.m. on July 27, Glavin said Ware and his friend, who Glavin said was driving a smaller, foreign car, began drag-racing at the intersection of Bridle and Nolte Road.

Glavin said the two cars may have reached speeds as high as of 60 to 70 miles per hour before Ware’s car lost control and rolled over several times. Glavin at Ware was ejected from the car and likely struck by it as it continued rolling.

Ware was not wearing his seatbelt, according to Glavin.

The other driver, who wore a seatbelt, spun his car and hit a pole, Glavin said.

“His car struck the utility pole backwards, which we feel was probably why he escaped with minor injuries,” Glavin said. “That and the fact that he was wearing a seatbelt.”

Glavin said police are trying to determine where the two teens were prior to the accident, and where they may have received the alcohol that likely caused the accident. Glavin said there has not been a history of drag racing in that area.

“I think what this boils down to is a case of very bad judgement,” Glavin said.

Information on Ware’s family ties in town was unavailable as of deadline. and i was in shock. charlie ware. dead. i know i wasn't good friends with him, but i had hung out with him a few times cause his best friend were friends with matt, so we all hung out. i even sat next to him at graduation and we made fun of all the speeches the whole time. its way to sad to think about someone who i just graduated with died. over something as stupid as racing. :(

so last night, after i got out of work, me, lisa, & genna went to the scene of the accident cause they have a memorial set up. we brought flowers. it was so sad seeing all the pictures of him. he always had this big, happy, friendly smile on his face. and reading all the notes people left. and seeing his good friends cry. thats something i never thought that i would see. ever. and it made me so sad, but for some reason, i couldn't cry. i wanted too, but i couldnt. and i dont know why. when i got home, my whole body felt numb. i didnt feel this way when the other kids from school died. but this is different i think because i actually knew him.

then after that, i went home and talked to matthew. that made me happy. :) he came and picked me up. then we got stuck in traffic on 495 going to applebees. what normally takes 10, 15 min tops, took 36. we timed it. lol. we met up with ryan, his brother john, & his (ex?)g.f. ashley. then we went to brunswick in lowell & met up with chris for "team sol bowling: version 1.0" haha. me, matt, & chris were on one lane. and ryan & john were on the other. ashley didnt want to play. i can honestly say this was one of the funniest bowling trips ever. matt is really good at bowling, so john kept asking him if he was in a secret bowling league. and then he was like "dont even deny it! i know you are! you are a dork!!" it was soo funny. then we dared john to run down one of the lanes, and he said he would before we left. so matt threw chris' shoe down into the gutter and john went to go get it and he completely wiped out. he got a good 4 inches off the ground. it was soooo funny. matt fell down from laughing so hard. then ashley left early and john went with her. so me, matt, ryan, & chris finished bowling. of course matt won. then we all went to mcdonalds down the street and hung out there for like 3 hours. mike came there after he got outta work. then we all went home.

this morning i got up, brought my brother to the orthdontist, dropped him off at my dads, went home, ordered lunch, picked up lunch, and came to work. and thats where i am now. till 6. then i get to go home and change and go to anna's wake. :(

this weekend was going to be: wake tonight, funeral tomorrow, wake sunday, funeral monday. but there is NO way in hell i would've been able to deal with that.

so instead its: wake tonight, TSMA {team sol, MA} cookout at my house then beach then party(?) tomorrow night, annie's grad party & charlie's wake sunday, possibly charlie's funeral monday.

well, thats all for now.
