New Year's was a movie, a later dinner, a party of two just finishing up in time to get a call from one of the girls to say she had gotten in trouble over at someone else's house cuz a few boys snuck in to the complex (her friends) and the kids told the parents they were on the roof when they were in fact in the common room. Nothing was going on but the dad got very mad and there was much shouting in Mexican and Rylie decided to come home.
2:48 am we head out to get her. It was snowing but we weren't far away. Deposited her at home with the other "good" child who elected to sleep through New Year's. They hung out together and giggled in bed til 5:00am apparently. We went back to other house to sleep. It was good.
Breakfast was even better. Onions, bacon, eggs on toasty, perogies. My egg smooshed when I poked it and left a delicious film on my lips.
Last couple of days have been with the kids: going to see the specialist tree of my life (a group of trees lit up in English Bay just for the month of December, well maybe a week into January). This tree makes me incredibly happy. It is huge when you stand under it and feels like the lights could rain down on you but they are suspended in air. After we leave the tree we always wave in the direction of the Sylvia Hotel and say "hi Jeremy, hi" to our favorite waiter there. Then up Davie Street or into Stanley Park for a cruise. This has been repeated a few times with a few different people over the holidays.
Tonight is MVK party. I have some bells I am bringing maybe to tape on my body as targets for a signal tail tonight. Maybe some clothes pegs too, not sure. Today will be spent still trying to move into new house and relaxing with the girls. And the dogs. And the cats. And the rabbit. Did I say relaxing?? Hmmm, maybe rethink that.
