A giggle and then a rant

Just so that I balance the negative second part of this post, here is a first positive piece:

The horoscope write-up for my Bday last Wednesday went like this:

"You're intelligent.  You have a wonderful imagination and enjoy exploring daydreams and fantasies.  You can be both extremely private or very exuberant.  However, partnerships and close relationships are important to you.  People know they can rely on you and this is a good thing.  Your ready to swing into a new cycle - something fresh, something different.  Be courageous about opening doors."

Let's break this down - intelligent (i get by).  imagination and daydreams and fantasies (that's where i do my best work! - who wants to sit in reality all day?)  extremely private (not so much).  very exuberant (yup)  partnerships and close relationships important (of course, no brainer).  people can rely on you (meh, this may be not so true as i would always like it to be).  ready to swing into a new cycle (did someone say SWING!!!!!  this is where i giggle uncontrollably).  fresh and different, courageous and opening doors (yup Monte Hall I am more than ready to make a deal!)

Okay, now the rant.  Last week me, G and the girls (two teens) went to see a rental listing.  Here is the listing.

*** Nice 2 Bedroom plus Den Townhouse ***  Commercial Dr. Area *** In Suite Laundry *** Much More *** Aug 1st *** 1295/mth ***  OPEN HOUSE - MON TO FRI-6PM to 6:30PM ***

The reality of what this listing was:

a main floor suite 750 sq feet, the den was a big closet.  I am guessing the Much More was "there are Much More people living in what I am advertising as a townhouse as there is a suite above and a suite below this main floor space we are charging you an incredible amount of money for."

The landlord/property manager also stopped my family at the top of the stairs to ask "how many in our party".  Are we at a restaurant?  I stop, look at Glenn, the girls and with my finger count us (like dude could not see there are four of us standing there and looking like a fairly obvious family) "4" I answer matter of factly.  He then says the suite is suitable for no more than two.

Dude, save me and the rest of the weary people out there looking for places to live and actually be honest with what you have (townhouse??-nice try) and who it is suitable for.  If the ad had said main floor suite of house, 2 bedrm den suitable for two, I obviously never would have wasted my time.

That was like at least 7 minutes of my life that I will never get back!  Curse you, gouging and intentionally misinforming landlords, curse you!
