Well, its been about three months worth of stuff.  Can that easily be reduced to a journal entry? probably not, no.

In gaming news: I've given up on D&D and started running Mage.  A weird shift for me.  But not that weird, right?
The second Igthakon has died.  A pity.  Those of you who remember the first will probably disagree.  Igthakon will be replaced by an obsidiman warrior named Sphal (who is heavily modelled off of OOTS's Thog.  Should be fun.  I don't like Shadowrun.  Playing it seriously is boring, and playing it silly is lethal.

I hate typing things now.  I feel it is generally inversely proportional to the due dates of things.  But I generally really like doing groundwork and half-baked drafts, but hate putting final touches on things.  Also...putting final touches on things is boring.

Well, today I wrote 5 pages of a latin paper, edited the final edit of my writing sample for this year's applications, and hammered out another personal statement.  Bleh.  I HATE personal statements.

I am also continually mystified by my utter lack of money in comparison to everyone else.  Anna and I are extremely frugal people.  (Anna might not agree with that about me, but that's another story)  All the other students I know here spend money like water on games and fast food and seldom complain about a lack of funds.  We have relatively low rent, low food costs most of the time, and we don't go in for expensive entertainment.  I'm not so much surprised by the fact that I'm broke as I am that no one else seems to be.
And I don't spend that much on pop and games (I'd estimate under 300 dollars combined per annum)

Also!  After having come to the conclusion over a month ago that we would not be going home for christmas this year, Anna got dragooned by her parents into getting us to fly out of Seattle on Christmas day to visit them in Virginia.  note: seattle.  This means we catch some sort of ridiculously early train out of vancouver and spend the entirety of christmas day trying to get to Anna's parents' house for a couple of days.  This bodes poorly for the remainder of the trip.  I'll just be sure to pack Oikonomides and Mela.  And not get any actual work done for a week.  Ah well.  I would have spent it playing Rome: Total War or Dwarf Fortress anyway.

Incidentally, if any of you really like open-goaled 'sandbox' games, I highly recommend Dwarf Fortress.  Just google it or something.
