boston! university! 2009!
so basically i loved bu. i was on campus most of thursday-saturday - i
stayed the night thursday with a sophomore who is not from the school
of education but hosts prospective freshmen and whatnot. she was nice
and showed me and this other girl around campus and then we went to her
friend's appartment off-campus to watch the oc because that is what she
does thursday nights. soo yeah. friday morning i went to a class that i
will be taking next year, it's taught by this really cool professor who
already knew my name when i got there (!) and basically you read a lot
of classics and look at art that deals with it and the semester project
is to pick your favorite work of art and create a lesson plan to teach
its history to a bunch of like 4th and 5th graders. after that the girl
i went to the class with showed me around the whole school of education
building and i met a bunch of professors who were all really cool, and
then later that afternoon my dad and i met the associate dean who was
way cool and told us about this program (bucop.. it stands for boston
university cooperative something..) where in 4 years you get two
degrees. not just a double major - two separate diplomas, a ba and a
bs. so i would have a degree in elementary education and something
else. and i can do my student teaching senior year in london! or
sydney! or equador! so basically, bu = perfect for me. i'm so excited.
i have so much homework to catch up on now. i went straight to school
today from the airport and got there during lunch, which is good
because none of my homework for morning classes was/is done. so i have
to do math and french now. and unpack. yayyyy.
