ISLAND VACATION EXTENTION and more
As you're probably well aware, LJ has been under devastating DDoS attacks this week, making it extremely slow, if not impossible to tag. While it seems to of stabilized, it's uncertain if any more attacks will occur. Either way, this unforeseen circumstance has taken a big chunk out of our Island Vacation time and that is SUPER LAME.
Due to popular request, we are therefore extending our vacation time from the July 29th to August 5th. ICly, you can just assume Smash Academy's only plane ride out is experiencing "technical difficulties", thus requiring a longer stay at our cursed island. As always, backdating is perfectly a-okay. Unless otherwise noted, classes are still on schedule to start back up again August 8th.
We're keeping our fingers crossed that LJ resolves the issues as quick as possible for everyone, but we may consider an additional extension if that isn't the case... or possibly alternate solutions. On that note, if you have a plurk we will strongly recommend that you add/watch/friend our plurk moderator account in the event LJ goes down again, so we can keep you informed.
If it does, there's plenty of temporary alternate solutions and things to keep you busy in SBG! For you artist types, we've got PAINT CHAT, and good ol' Tegaki. Hey, it isn't the thing failboating this time. And don't forget have an AIM chat: sumaburagakuen. When LJ goes down, IC chat sessions quickly become a VERY popular idea. There's no set time for those sorts of things and they're played by ear (at the moment). Usually we're waiting for enough people to sign on and chats can sometimes last several hours... so don't be afraid to join us if you're interested!
