BIG NEWS: I GOT ACCEPTED INTO UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS! Hooray! I'm so excited! I can't believe I did it. I thought it was going to be much harder than that, but it wasn't too shabby. Now I just need to get everything else in for my other colleges. I can do it! I know I can!
Last Thursday: Relient K at Val Air Ballroom. Totally kick ass! They were amazing, and the people who went to that concert were amazing too. I had so much fun singing my lungs out and enjoying the music with all those Dowling seniors. Waaaay kick ass! In the words of you Spanish speakers, "Me gusta!" I want to be on the guy who plays the banjo- he is so mine! I love Relient K!!!
Friday: Shortened day w/assembly and tunnel leading out to the bus was awesome; losing the game was not so cool. Our guys did really well though, and it was the best season ever! Congrats and goulet to all my guys that played football this year. I'm proud of you, and thank you for making this year even better!
Saturday: Dance team fall show went pretty well. Lots of people came which means we raked in a lot of money. Hooray! Our first 2 dances (pom and hip hop) were nicht so gut, but our jazz was phenominal! I can't wait till everyone can see this dance cuz it is absolutely amazing. It will rock your socks off, and then some! After cleaning and everything we went out to eat at Village Inn with JV; I love hanging out with those girls. They are so sweet and nice, and they are great dancers. They inspire me to be the best dancer I can be- kinda cheesy but true.
Sunday: Cross country banquet. Kinda sad cuz I know I'll never run cross country again. I think that was one of my first official good-byes for Dowling. Also, long talk with my mom about college, my fatal flaws, fear, etc. Basically a reality check that was needed, but not delivered too well.
Other news:
Lots of "drama" going on with varsity dance team. There's been alot of talking about how we're ready to take our team to the next level. We decided we want our coaches to give us more criticism with our dancing and to not be afraid to individually point out people when they're doing or not doing something right. Some of the more sensitive people on our team are, in my opinion, making this whole thing harder/more complicated than it really is. Some people are just too damn sensitive and can't have people tell them the truth, and that makes me so angry.
We seriously have the best coaches ever who never give off negative vibes- ever! They are the most positive people I know, and they are big reason why I am and choose to be such an optimistic and positive person. These sensitive people on our team need to stop being so selfish, suck it up, and just take it cuz our coaches only want us to get better. Anything they say is for our best interest. They love us so much and know what potential we have as a team, so if someone isn't living up to our squad shield/goals, they should and will be called out about it.
All in all, our coaches know what's best for our team. They have had the experience- that's why they ARE our coaches. I've been on the team for 4 years, so- I'm not saying I know everything but- I know or can tell when we shouldn't be making a mountain out of a mole hill. This is one of those instances. Ya know how we say Let go and Let God, well kinda in this case I guess we could say Let go and Let Coaches cuz dance team is about trust. Our team needs to trust the process and respect our coaches' decisions.
Things Coming Up: Norwalk Fall Show, Drake Jamboree, State, more college stuff. I think that's it for now. Ich liebe dich und Tschuss!
