[And suddenly, Doctor McCoy appears in the clinic carrying his medikit and looking disgruntled with the facilities (but that is not really surprising), but his eyes fall onto the expectant couple and he walks over to them.]

Good news, the baby isn't breeched. That should prevent any complications during the actual birth.
