Edited: The ending was killing me, so I changed it. Hey, it's my party, and I'll fiddle if I want to. Tee hee.
As he stepped up to the small bungalow, a strange feeling washed over him.
“Huh, I dreamed this,” he thought. He held a precious boxed gift in one hand and knocked.
He’d dreamt the whole scenario: She’d be surprised; they’d make love in front of the fire, take a drive in the Hills and have a nice meal at an expensive restaurant.
As she opened the door, she looked exactly as he remembered from his dream. Déjà vu, his grandmother used to call it. Already seen.
“Hutch?” Seemed someone else had “already seen” her that day. He hadn't dreamt this.
