discos in germany are...

Discos in Germany are... interesting. The culture is definitely different.

Let's see...
- The crowds are older than in USA, though I should say that in general they are still quite young.
- The crowds are not as drunk or stupid.
- The music is like a leap back in time to the 80s. Man, I never thought I'd be jamming to Michael Jackson's "The way you make me feel", immediately followed by "Tainted Love" and then followed by other 80s songs that are less known from the 80s, but that everyone is just dancing the electric slide to.
- The taste in music is, however, very ecclectic. One second you hear 50cent only to be immediately followed by Juanes, who is immediately followed by Eurodance, which is immediately followed by a string of 80s and 70s music, only to go back to Beyonce and Christina Aguilera, with the occasional song in German, usually a translation of an 80s song.. I will say, it is a weird trip. It's almost like they can't make up their minds, lol.
- The bar areas are actually quieter, and are places where you can actually carry a conversation.
- Beer, wine, and other liquors are cheaper than water or soda.
- While you can tell that some people really try hard to look really good, a good chunk look dorky, and the rest seems like they tried really hard to look really weird.
- People in the dancefloor are generally not in to be the center of attention, and they do not seem to care what others may think about their moves.
- Some of them dance honkytonk to everything, while others try hard.
- Straight people will dance together. Sure, it is not strange for girls to dance together. Try seeing a couple of straight men dancing together. It is shocking.
- You can point out the one american person. They're usually drunk off their asses, and getting into a fight, or screaming about how the US is so superior or so good or so this or so that. *rolls eyes* Seriously, if we really are that great, do we really need to toot our own horns and drink ourselves silly to pick a fight with some german dude who is probably very strong, much stronger than you?
- Germans don't really do a lot of PDA.
- Germans love their 80s music.
- Just like in America we go to Denny's or IHOP after clubbing, in K-town, you go get a doner kebap. That stuff is really good stuff. Reminds me a lot of tacos mananeros in Mexico - the after-club food of choice.
