New additions to the family and home :]
Sorry I haven't written in awhile. We have been very very busy! We finally got our tax return on Friday, so we've been busy buying new things for the apartment. It is slowly starting to look more like a home! Aaron has been wonderful about doing the little projects... like hanging our new coat rack, pictures, mirrors, etc.
The main reason that I've been so busy, though, is because we got a new puppy!!!
Meet Kodiac Gougeon.
We call him Kody. Aaron thought of the name, because he is so beefy and fluffy- he reminded him of a kodiac bear. He is a shepherd/pit/lab mix, and is currently nine weeks old. He came into this world on New Years Day, 2010. What a great way to start off the year! I saw an ad on craigslist for him and his brothers, and we drove out to Hereford (a tiny town!) and picked him out. We met both his mother (who was a purebred black and white american pit) and his father (a lab mix). All of his brothers were so unique and lovable, it took me forever to choose. Some had short hair, while others had Kody's thick fluffy fur, there were all different colors and markings... Kody ended up picking me by running up and tackling me when I crouched down... he put one paw on each shoulder and tried to devour my face. It was love at first sight, hah.
He's been a good puppy so far- no accidents in the house, he loves to play, he's very squishy and cuddly. The only problem is that he is very vocal if excited, scared, or upset. He is always either panting heavily, whining or barking. He even grunts and moans in his sleep! All of that is okay, minus the barking. So we're trying to train him to be quieter. He's a bit of a wimp, which is funny because he's going to be a HUGE dog someday. But we love him to death!. He and Lucy get along perfectly, and she seems to love having another pup in the house.
My days of going to bed late and sleeping in are over, or at least until this little one grows up. He's keeping me very busy, and I love it.
