American Idol / LOST / Chuck
Dear American Idol contestants:
It's still a singing competition. It is not a "song choosing competition" or a "big personality" competition or "song arranging competition."
Pick a song you know you're good at singing and then JUST SING IT.
I liked Big Mike's performance, but it wasn't that great of a song for this kind of competition. Jermaine and Todrick were confusing with their changed-up arrangements (also the arrangements sucked). I couldn't tell if they were good or not, so I'm going to go with not. Andrew was all right, but I didn't know the song and he sounded tentative on it. The rest sucked (even Lee Dewyze, whose appeal does not extend to me).
Lost
I can't believe there are only 10 episodes of Lost left because I am still very, very confused. They have answered questions in the Lost-way, which is to say they have answered the questions by sort of answering them halfway and then presenting 12 more questions. I enjoyed the Sayid storyline in Plane-Landed-Reality though; it was a great parallel to the storyline on the island.
Is the woman who plays Nadia different from the woman who played Nadia before? She looks different.

I don't know if it's because I've grown or because Kristin Kreuk has grown (or maybe neither and she just lucked out with some better writers/casting this time), but I enjoyed her on Chuck and kind of wanted her storyline to continue. On the other hand, while I also love Brandon Routh and think that his acting is more awesome than that Superman movie led us to believe, I do not like him with Sarah either. I still love Ellie, I think mostly because I wish I could be as good of a big sister as she is. I missed Morgan. The shenanigans in the Buy More are getting kind of tired though.
Miscellaneous
- I wasn't really reeled in by the Olympics this time. I think I am more about the Summer Olympics.
- I can't wait for Glee to come back. Madonna songs! Yays!
- I am currently watching "French Kiss," which makes me happy even though it's formulaic. It makes me want to visit France but only if I could be as cute as Meg Ryan. Even Kevin Kline's horrible French accent can't screw up this movie.
- Both Trader Joe's and O Organics (Safeway/Vons/Pavilions grocery store generic) makes an Oreo cookie imitation and they are both pretty good. I think I prefer the Trader Joe's version.
